150cc motorized bicycle update + ride video
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
This is a small update of our homemade motorized bicycle. There is still no clutch, but we are trying to make it soon. We calculated the final gear ratio and the top speed should be something like 50-60km/h. Feel free to ask anything and please comment :)

and a motorcycle helmet because other drivers don't respect bicycles and they don't expect them to be going above 20mph.

big tires so you don't pop a wheel and die in a head on collission with another vehicle that is going 45+ mph and your going 35+mph. also heavy duty double walled rims. cool bike. just don't trust your life to other drivers, wear some sort of protection.

@robinhooodvsyou Nice I hope to see it. I didn't realize that was your bike. I was just scrolling through a bunch of homemade motor bikes on youtube and started writing people comments with out looking at there user names. If I were to known it was you in particular i wouldn't have wrote what i wrote like that because I seen your channel and talked to you before. I know you no what you are doing. I apologize

@honeybunchickens -That machine now has a belt tensioning clutch so it is far easier to use, and despite the "long" gearing it has a plenty of torque, and climbs hills well enouht for me, and I must say I usually keep the things how they are for speed, and I find speed more thrilling than fast acceleration from 0 to something. I have been planning to build a bike with 2-4 of mower engines which would be like those old boardtrack bikes, and propably go to 120 kph if not more.

@Scootertuner1000 -It now has a belt clutch, which I haven`t been updating for some reason, sorry my mistake.
-
@robinhooodvsyou But in the video you are having to carry the back end of the bike because it's always in drive without a clutch. If you had a centrifugal clutch you could have both wheels on the ground and let it idle and you wouldn't have to run along with it and then drop the back wheel in order not to stall the engine. I would say you need a clutch, otherwise every time you stop the engine stalls or you have to jump off while still movoing in order not to stall the engine.
-
@Scootertuner1000 -Because it already works fine.
-
@robinhooodvsyou Why don't you put a centrifugal clutch on it? They only run about $50
-
@robinhooodvsyou so that way it would be better for off road
-
@Hogasofa -Why big tires ?
-
holy crud that thing could go fast you were hardly giving that thing any gas at all you should get some big tires for that thing.
-
@PS3G4M3R -Hahaha en :)
-
@Velkus96 -It doesn`t get that hot at all, thanks for the "heat shield".
-
doesnt the exhaust burn you?
-
@ciclotronforever -Thanks !, I was pretty amazed how low it can run and it has a good torque !
-
looks fantastic!! Your homemade flywheel seems to work pretty good.
-
Yeah, thats how they make them so compact. I'm trying to get a little 120cc Villiers running, I have replaced the coil and condensor but she still doesn't want to play ball! It's 1954 and hasn't run for a while, I'll get there in the end.
-
@steamwally -Thanks !,it really has a good torque altough it has a very short stroke like most of mower engines.
