https://www.facebook.com/1980YZ465 | Rebuilding a 1980 Yamaha YZ465 big bore dirt bike. Under 10 starts. If you have a suggestion I could use the help. Jew jets main #380. 32:1 fuel mix. I took out the spark plug and it still looks new.

Beautiful bike. I had a 1980 just like it. I remember climbing monstrous hills standing up holding the handle bars near my chest jumping up and down on it like a rototiller all the way to the top. I don't remember that beast ever stalling.

It's running to rich hence the fuel coming out the pipe

Yeah I've got a suggestion. Go hurl some fuckin sod with that big bore already. Sheesh, don't go all trailer queen, even though it is pretty.

that's a sweet yz 465 I've owned a bunch of the big yz's and I.T's the 79s and 80s were the best frames and swingarm the earlier round tube swingarms were kind of weak but the got it right with that square tube aluminum the early yz 125s is where yamaha perfected that design with several failures in strength

Sounds rich. Id go 1 click down on needle and lean the main until it sounds crisp. Then play with the air screw until it idles smooth.

Man thats a sweet bike. I think those YZ's looked awesome in yellow and black, Yamaha are crazy for changing to blue
