2 Stroke vs 4 Stroke Revisited - Episode 143
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
The 2 stroke vs 4 stroke debate will rage on perhaps long after we are all dead and gone. However, I've learned some things in the past year since doing the original series of debates. In the 6 part series, we highlight the fact that the 2 stroke motor is a viable option and makes for a very capable bike. In this video, one year later, we bring the debate full circle. i geting 2stroke but i am 4 stroke
-
yeah but with 2 strokes your always mixing fuel
-
good on you boys for doing this. bottom line: you gotta have both (250 2 stroke and 350 4 stroke).
-
Why dont they make a 3 stroke! problem solved!
-
I think the 2 stroke has a hi end grunt power and the 4 stroke has the low end grunt....
-
You talk about the YZ450F in the sandy whooped out desert really shining. How does the 300 in XC or XC-W do in the same conditions? Unfortunately, most of my local conditions are sandy rocky whooped out open desert.

4 stroke easier to live with you will get more use before it goes wrong 2 stroke is just pure insane fun and addictive will go bang sooner or later but pretty easy to fix
-
kyle needs more knowledge on gearing. that is obvious to me
-
as i tell my wife," its not a hobby, its a lifestyle....."

to be honest both bikes go hard. in my opinion i love 2 strokes ive been riding them since i was 4 ive got a cr250r ( i know not as good as ktm or yamaha) and i love that thing for how old it is its a 2003 model it goes hard. 4 strokes in my opinion are good bikes but it just dosent feel right for me the power on the 4 stroke is a bit weak and keeping them maintained is a pain where as a 2 strokes are easy as. in my opinion both bikes are crazy but 2strokes all the way.

all I think about is what a bummer to mix oil at gas station when a four stroke just fuel up and go. much respect to 2 strokes because like people are saying there more for the experienced rider who can use its full potential where 4 stoke is just plain simple even in bigger cc the low end is easy and not as intimidating as a 2 stroke and the noise let's not even start with that(personal preference) I hate the sound of 2 strokes. any motor that is always high strung in the rpms will always have more problems then someone riding 4 stroke that rpms are lower even when it's full throttle. point said I like 4 stroke and all bikes are cool......
-
2 stoke for street legal supermoto??
-
Personally I'm a 2 stroke guy, even though I haven't had a 2 stroke in a while, waiting to find a good deal on a maico 700, would be awesome for you guys to do a review on one!
-
more like personal preference but I'll stick with a four stroke don't feel like doing rebuilds every year
-
i have both kx250 and rmz450 ..want a ktm 2t or beta (no oklahoma dealer) ((also budget)) i just wish ktm had lower base seat heights though
-
This is always a good debait. I would go 2stroke any day. I know 4 stroke is awsome too but i just love the sound and the easy maintainace of the 2. I had a 2001 yamaha yzf426 and it was good but it landed me with big bills to many times. Geoff.

Let's put it like this. Guys that rode old super bikes that was raw power and all danger would rather go for 2 stroke
-
just after abit of advice here, i mainly do forestry, and single trail riding and am currently buying a new dirtbike, not sure if i should get 2 stroke or 4 stroke.
-
Does that ktm 300 2 stroke make some massive power? I've got an 06 rm 250 2 stroke and that thing makes the power so I'm just curious about an extra 50cc

So what two-stroke is behind you
