2-Stroke vs. 4-Stroke

theyre comparing the wrong bikes, they should be comparing a 125 two stroke wit a 250 four stroke
-
all else being equal, the only way a four stroke beats a two stroke is if they get to have double the displacement.

Great video
-
no desire to race or get killed...so my two points are,,,less smoke and fumes from 4 stroke,,and not having to carry oil around for 2 stroke which makes me want 4 stroke
-
4 strokes are better
-
I raced a CR 125 vs a CRF 250R on a straight 1 mile road and destroyed it, 2 strokes all the way
-
if your a rich kid with a vagina, get a brand new 4 stroke. if ur a man get a 2 stroke.. wayyyyy easier to fix yourself and lasts a hell of a lot longer. and its hell of a lot more fun. 7:30 u can see the gleam in his eye after riding the 250 2 stroke.

Time to set the record straight on this debate - using math...math doesn't lie. Im using the factory specs to do the math for this comparison;
Bike: Yamaha YZ250F
Weight = 231 lbs
HP = 39
Power to weight ratio = 0.168 HP per pound
Bike: Yamaha YZ 250 (2-Stroke)
Weight = 218 lbs
HP = 49
Power to weight ratio = 0.224 HP per pound
Bike: Yamaha YZ450F
Weight = 247lbs
HP = 56
Power to weight ratio = 0.226 HP per pound
My YZ250 (2 Stroke)
Bike: 1998 (yep thats right) YZ 250 (2 Stroke)
Weight 212 lbs
HP after engine mods and Fat Pipe = Dyno run showed 59 HP
Power to weight ratio = 0.279 HP per pound
As you can see, a stock YZ250 (2-stroke) has far greater power to weight ratio then the 250F and almost identical power to weight ratio to 450F. The debate is over. My older YZ 250 has best power to weight ration by far even against the 450F.
Note: Its easy to make more power over stock with a 2-stroke; It costs many thousands to get any real power gain out of a 4 stroke. -
4 stroke is way better by far 4 has more power
-
Wait if 250 two strokes and 250 four strokes raced together, I'd be on a two stroke. I ride the 250 class with a rmz250f but only 125 two strokes are allowed in it. 250 two strokes race with the 450f.
-
lol 2 strokes have a power band so think yourself lucky
-
can we stop making it hard everyone, yes 2 strokes are one of the best engines and nothing can compare but 4 strokers will eventually catch up just remember how many years strokers have to gain and as we know it theres becoming more technology and smokers might be left behind
-
4 strokes are just pure grunt, and thats a good thing, i went from a ktm 85 2 stroke to a yz125 2 stroke then made the swap over to a honda 250 4 stroke and now own a factory edition ktm 450, will never ever go back, i have no problems with 2 strokes as i learned how to ride competently with them but the 4 strokes as the man said are just for the rider that is lazy on the throttle, thats what i like about 4 strokes, the whole 2v4 is so stupid, 2 strokes have more speed purely on the fact that the throttle on those things has to be pinned or you are going to get smoked. if you want a genuine fun time ride 4 strokes. want to race and arent lazy and have balls? ride 2 strokes.
-
You can also just through a flywheel weight on the 250 2 stroke make it put power to the ground and track like a 4 stroke
-
notice the 250 2 stroke ran the 250 4 stroke down
-
So there racing 250f's with 250 2 strokes!?
-
4 strokes I guss ok 2 strokes are better
-
be a man and ride a 2 stroke
-
