RIP! We have not torn it down yet so we do not know what happened internally. Not going to be in a rush to put it together as we want the 450 running first and the 125 doesn't need to be running right away! I don't know how many hours it had on it, and we don't frequently change the piston or rings as this is the bike I hardly ride and don't maintain like I should. So, sorry. what gopro are you using

it was becouse the piston ring was worned out. It could be heard 10 miles away..

piston ring or complete piston/ring should be replaced in 25 h on a 125 ..

Ever heard of what engine braking does to a 2stroke engine?

Maybe you'll figure out how 2-stroke engines work while changing that cylinder. And then stop engine braking with it. 🙃

learn to drive 2 strokes

Nice enginebrake , learn when you need to change gears and rights rpm´s next drive a 2 stroke

same thing happened to me on my 06 kx125 while on the face of a huge double :D, i managed to keep it up right but when we ripped it apart we had to do a new crank, rod, piston kit, power valves, just everything. Running like new now :)
