2014 Super Naked Street Brawl
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
In the track version of our Super Streetfighter Smackdown, the KTM 1290 Super Duke R won over the BMW S1000R by the narrowest of margins. Which is all well and good for the small percentage of riders who'll actually take these bikes to the track. For the greater population, riding these motorcycles on the mean streets of America, the streetable personas of these two and the Ducati Monster 1200S and Kawasaki Z1000 ABS are far more important. IMHO, YMMV; I'll vote for Z1000, less price with ABS(may be I'm cheap, I don't care, you're not buying it for me :) ), Kawa is also known for reliability compared to maintenance costs of Ducati and KTM (I'm a Yamaha guy, my grandpa owned a Kawa (Kawasaki Bajaj 100 4s), back when I was 14, I learned how to ride, on that bike).
BMW, again reliable, but expensive, I prefer to save that 1000$, use it against upgrades on Z1000, where as, you'll get a stock BMW, where you need to spend a lot more for upgrades anyway. -

Do it again, make it fair and run the Monster R. It's better in every way. BTW Does the dude, second from the right, ever make up his mind? Also you can always count on the portly guy having terrible arguments for everything dumb that comes out of his mouth. I hate to be that way, but seriously. I've never heard anything good from him. How do you qualify to have such an amazing job? It's as if they have him on there just to go against what the rest of them think. Since we're on the subject of diversity, the lady to his left needs to drop a pair. Again, I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I can't even watch these anymore

I have to agree... most general users know shit about damping probably setting up The S1000R incorrectly by continiously toggling in the Nintendo Tetris menu's.
The WP monoshock rear damping from KTM is beyond öhlins quality and the front damping allows rebound and compression to be set at the telescopic fork however there is absolutely no need for it because you are smart... but KTM engineers are smarter.
Nevertheless if they are going to compary to a Tuono Factory the KTM and BMW will lose... only just.
But it's never a disgrace to be runner up to the Tuono Factory... which isn't a real naked anyway.
