I just ordered one of these today. Looking forward to the trade up from my old cruiser.

I use my FX 7.2 for commuting and love it. It's light weight makes it a breeze to carry up 2 flights of stairs to my office (not leaving this one outside). After almost 300 logged miles, no mechanical issues to date. I have found the ride jarring when hitting rough road surfaces with the stock 700x35 Bontrager tires. I'm currently looking into finding a tire that will help absorb some of these bad spots. The only other comment is I wish the rear brake cable was placed on the side of the top tube instead of directly on its underside. The placement is less than favorable for bike carriers; even a top-end Yakima.

Trek's Best Buy in this design is the Trek Allant 7.2. Hands down the best decision for most bang for the buck...

Would you recommend it for fitness and for long journeys 30ml

I bought this bike about two months ago. I was really excited, because I can't run (bad back) anymore and was looking forward to biking for cardio. I can't ride it now, because it gives me awful pain in my forearms. I can ride my wife's plain old Schwinn without pain, but not my brand new Trek. And yes, I already have the ergonomic grips. I hate them.

In my opinion, living in The Valley of the Sun, treat your hybrid like a road bike and get bigger tires with slightly more tread. I'm a tree-huggin commuter, but the roads suck. 7.2 all the way, maintain it like hell, and oft for slightly more of heavier duty tire. Enjoy your passion my friends.

Hi Sir,
I am confused whether to buy trek fx 7.2 or look out for some cyclocross..
I am a new to this world. I haven't had any mountain bikes.I have ridden my friend's trek 3700.Very difficult in city.
My main usage will be in city for fitness and also weekend trip, around 20-30 miles one side including dirt roads.
Do I need to consider cyclocross with drop bar handles or trek fx 7.2 will suffice ?
Please help me choose right bike. -
Curious if the specs on this 2015 model is an upgrade over the 2014? I just saw a 2014 in blue, and like the color. But will get the 2015 if the newer year is a better bike.

Is this a review of the 7.2 FX or the Verve 1?
