2016 Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt BC Edition MTB Test Ride

I rode the 2016 Rocky Mountain Bikes Thunderbolt BC Edition on Comfortably Number in Whistler, BC and it was an amazing mountain bike. Full Specs: http://www.bikes.com/en/bikes/thunderbolt-bc-edition/2016 The ride was 4.5 hours long and one of the hardest routes I've ever taken on, but the Thunderbolt made it so damn fun. I'm thinking of picking up a 2014 Thunderbolt w/ a 140mm fork but I'm wondering how the 120mm shock takes the bigger hits?

Lots of tight gaps through there! Great riding and great video!

Rocky Mountain Bikes ROCK!! (pun intended)... Definitely some pucker up moments there >.<
-
Forgive my geographic ignorance but what is BC? The location? It's beautiful!
Also, how do you get your camera that stable with a chest mount?! -
👍 📹
On 01:26 when you are riding between two trees 🎄 🎄 you can actually see👀 what seems like Bruises from ather riders handlebars... 😎 -
Coming from Manitoba. ....I see this terrain and it just gives me goosebumps. ....you are an amazing rider! What camera setup are you using. ...the footage was incredible!

Great video review and your footage was amazing! Specially the scary sections of the drops.

I am 5'10 with a similar build. Sucks being in the grey zone between sizes but after making some bad frame choices in my day I think I fit better on large frames. For me a long TT plus a 18.5 in or so seat tube.

good job keep rocking and pedaling :)

What size/type bars +BK-XC?
-
what brand do you own? what do you recommend? cuz I'm thinking about the santa cruz or trek right now tanx...

I concur. Bought one in Feb. It is a blast. 100 hours on it. No issues. I am interested in a demo on the pipeline to see the difference.

I'd love to see a video of what you think the difference is between similar models of FS bikes. One being an entry level range of $2k or so and the other being loaded maybe carbon in the $6k range. Is there a point of deminishing returns maybe? Currently I am running a Specialized Crave Comp hard tail. I would say that is about a mid range alloy frame hard tale at about $1700 new.

Great vid, suspension was on point for you on this bike, soaking up all those chunky trails! Plus with the 50mm stem definitely help you on the descends. Awesome trails up there..
-
Great video! I like that it was a really broad test with all types of terrain, both uphill and downhill. You've got some good skills getting up those rocks :)

Are sponsored by Rocky Mountain?

People whom live in that part of Canada are realy blessed in terms of mountain biking.

You seemed more stoked on the Bronson

Thanks for uploading your videos. I really appreciate that you are kind of an average rider. I can connect to your style of riding, meaning that your reviews really speak to me. Of course, I like watching Ratboy riding the Bronson. But does it really matter to me? Well not even close. Im far away from being a downhill pro... Did you ever ride a Yeti ASRc? I think of getting one, but its quite hard to get a grasp on them here in Germany.

Great vids, really happy I found your channel! When you refer to your "home trails", what are those? Just want to get some perspective when you use it as a reference. Thx
