2017 Tempo Hybrid Electric Bicycle Updates from Interbike

Tempo Hybrid Electric Bike company was at Interbike showcasing their 2017 ebikes and I was able to speak with the President, Vân Nguyen about what makes them different and what’s coming up. She highlighted the integration of electric assist, ease of use and comfort that new technology and accessories offer including the NuVinci continuously variable transmission (CVT) and electronic NuVinci. Many of the Temp electric bicycles also come with belt drivetrains instead of traditional chains and use mid-drive motor for improved balance and ease of servicing tires and tubes. You can learn more at tempobicycles.com Tempo wants to make bicycles easier to ride, to simplify electric bikes. Their batteries are stylish and seamless, the feature ergonomic grips and pedals (which can work with high heel shoes!) the CEO emphasized that their bikes come in three different sizes and offer a step-thru option to make it easy to use for females (who tend to be shorter) and seniors who might not have as much strength or balance. Their new bikes charge in under an hour and use LG battery cells which are higher quality. Tempo Electric Bikes is based in San Jose California and has named each of their bikes after cities that reflect their values (La Jolla, Santa Barbara etc.) one of the bikes I saw used an MPF mid-drive motor.

My wife would absolutely LOVE the first bike. That is, if I didn't told her the price.
In my case, I got here because of that beautiful lady from Tempo ;)
P.S.: but that saddle position on the second "high-end-because-of-carbon" bike... Don't know man... Gives me the feeling that these guys don't know about bikes. Probably not the case, but that's the impression that off-saddle gives me. -
Another great review -- however bikes starting at over 3k$, they are aiming for the highend user market. Cant argue about the quality of the components though -- all very good, The 1st bike I would pay 1800 the 2nd 2500.
Cheers, Patrick -
