Before we started the V Twin build, we decided to slap together an electric go kart. Ike bought the go kart chassis for $25, and we only had to buy $3 of additional parts. Add another battery in series to make 24V and the power will become more interesting. The Mercedes starter motor, if from an 80's diesel is a stout beast, and is rated for almost continuous duty.

remember that is 110 - 240v and AC not DC Alternating current does not come from batteries. now many washing machine motors will run on DC however those are meant for high RPM and very low torque

Of that's a starter motor, wouldn't it burn up if it was run for an extended period of time?
