29er bikes: Does Bicycle Wheel Size Matter?
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
29er bikes vs 26ers? Does a 29 inch tire beat out a 26 inch tire? The trails in Texas have been buzzing for the past few years about 29 inch tires on mountain bikes. But does 29 inches of tire really help you as a rider? Can your bicycle wheel size make an impact on your riding? I sat down with semi-pro racer and coach, Grayson Kepplar from http://mudbandit.blogspot.com. We took a look at the difference in wheel size on two bikes at Cadence Cyclery in downtown Mckinney Texas. Special thanks to my good friends: Grayson Kepplar - http://mudbandit.blogspot.com Cadence Cyclery - http://www.cadencecyclery.com The final verdict is yes. 29 inches of tire is highly beneficial for mountain biking. Your bicycle wheel size does matter and the larger tires equal less rolling resistance for you. Using a 29 inch tire makes it easier to reach top end speeds and allows you to roll over obstacles in your path much easier. 26" for me please.

Bicycle weight also matters, so does rider size. So not for everyone 29" is best option.

27.5 seems to be the craze now, claiming best of both worlds

ive been researching this debate for awhile before I purchase my bike, ive ridden both and a 29 vs 26 to me is like a 4x4 truck with 35s vs standard tires. After riding the 26 the 29 kinda felt big and def different, after riding the 29 and getting used to it the 26 felt kinda small lol...also long straight trails 29 wins, twisty tight trails 26 wins...i thought the 29 "felt" smoother on bumps
