Sorry, but that's the ordinary rubbish I read and listen to every day. The fact concerning bunny hops is: The road Cyclist will seek the permanent contact to the road. If you want to learn something about dealing with pop holes, watch Fabian Cancellara riding at Paris-Roubaix! We can learn very little from Mountain Bikers. They use the breaks when we 'roadies' seek the gap, the bunny-hop where we go around the pop whole or ride straight through using our legs as 'telescope suspension' and they perform 'gymnastic figures' when cornering whereas we ride in as stable state as possible.

dan, im sorry, that was the worst bunny hop ive ever seen. atleast with a shaved head youll have less hair and less product to lift
-
1:46 Now I like to watch roadies do bunny hops! That is so funny!
-
I DO need to get better at my bunny hops.
-
you call 1:31 a pot hole? you don't know what is go ride on bad roads.
-
A road biking skill that mountain bikers should know- ' You can't run up a hill faster then you can riding up it.'
-
Good stuff lads... 😎👌
although getting in the drops does not lower the center of mass is very much at all, in fact it moves It forward more than it moves it downward. Remember your center of mass on the human body is at the pelvic area. Not the head and shoulders. so it's not a significant drop of CoM, by putting your hands in the bar drops. in fact if you have compact or super compact handlebars the amount of distance you will lower your shoulders from the hoods to the drops is negligible. I never ride in the drops when descending/cornering, either technical or sweeping corners. There's just no real need to do it. It comes down to personal feel and perception. 👍 -
Dan, bunnyhop? That was bunnyslop, mate! You'd have to be going 100mph to clear a toothpick with that amount of lift. :p
-
I would add a controlled skid to that list of skills.
-
I like that they never put the globe where dan motions to it.
-
Do something where you race mtb and road bikes gmbn vs gcn
-
1:10 😂😂😂😂😂
-
Learning how to skid is essential, for 2 reasons. 1 to make a sharp turn, 2 this will give you tje sense and ability to detect and control your rear, if it slides, for safety reasons - not injuring yorself or other on the group, by falling of hittin something or someome.
-
Well i used this today to jump over a dead rabbit. So literally a bunny hop.
-
2:54 why do you call it tarmac and not asphalt??
-
That's not a manhole cover. It's a drain.
-
Now (especially when I do criteriums) I pretty much lay my chin on my stem when I corner. The lower you are, the harder you can rail.

One time I swerved off a busy downhill road onto the sidewalk at full-speed to get out of the way of a couple cars coming behind me.. I road one block and checked the crossroad as well as the road behind me for oncoming cars to make sure no one was going to end up in my path, and after crossing the road at full-speed I looked up in front of me and seen a wooden fence lying 5 feet in front of me on the sidewalk.. The strong winds blew it over earlier that day. I hardly had time to hop up in the air, let alone swerve around it or stop.. I thought I was going to clip one of my wheels because of the speed I was going and how close the fence was. Luckily I hoped high enough to land on the fence and ride across it super fast.. I rode away and felt like a badass. haha
I'm still working on my high speed, narrow bike-path or sidewalk sharp turns/corners.. -
Awwwee... Dan is so cute. He can baby bunny hop. :P
