someone please tell me the difference between a entry level 500 dollar road bike and a cheap 200 dollars road bike???
-
if you don't want to spend a lot on a good road bike you're better off buying a used one from someone than wasting money on a bad one. nothing wrong with a nice used bike

these bikes are what are called "garage", bikes. they are not for hvy duty use. if you only ride 5 miles or so on a paved bike trail these will work for awhile before problems pop up.
plus the fact that in traffic it is unwise to say the least to be in the drops, not having the best view of your surroundings. also if you have any kind of belly. every" up" stroke your thigh will be hitting it.
better for the average person to stay away from road bikes and get more value and use out of a bike if you buy one based on need. -
is number 2 a joke

Funny yet dumb

Hay una bicicleta que nunca deben comprar. Schwinn phocus 700. Tiene ruidos por todos lados. Le suena el eje pedalier, le suenan algunas velocidades. Tiene la cadena muy corta. No la recomiento.

I can confirm the 'GMC' (which is Chinese) Denali is a huge pile of caca. Walmart special.

I stand by my helpful, not snobby, comment from 7 months ago. If you're happy with a sub-$ 500. bike, that's great - at least you're riding - or are you ... My point is, if you purchase a bike at this price point, you might miss out on a very healthy "way of life" that includes items like pedal-shoe systems, padded shorts, pumps with gauges on them, etc. This might evolve into club riding and great friendships, rides of more than 50 miles, and so on. A sub $500. bike just doesn't lend itself to much more than the neighborhood park - and if that is TRULY going to suit your needs down the road - GREAT ! ! Those of us who ride thousands of miles aren't on cheap bikes. Just sayin

It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot – it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better. There is hardly anything in the world that someone cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price alone are that person's lawful prey.

People that comment on YouTube bike reviews are fags!

Even without flicking on your stupid site, I knew these bikes could all be sold on Amazon. Getting your affiliate money, dude?

I bought the XL GMC Denali and have put 300 road miles and who-knows-how-many-trainer miles on it since November 2013. It rides great and no mechanical issues to date. I have lost 12 pounds since I have bought the bike. My advice - - -spend $170 to see if you really enjoy riding before spending a grand on a possible clothes hanger.

If you look closer you could see that this chart is the best you can get for given price tag. Yes, the extra cheap A-lee 714F is not a bike for longer rides but watch what the customers write on the sales page.... "I bought this bike a little over a month ago. The unique design of this bike frame is always a source of compliments and bike enthusiasts ask me daily to buy this bike off me."... Yeah and this is also a kind of value for entry amateur bikers. They simply like the design of the bike and all this for less than $200.

These are a waste of money. Go to a bike shop and spend, unfortunately, pretty damn close to a grand - otherwise you're not going to enjoy it and therefore ride it.
-
These are all beginner entry road bikes and yes they are cheaper bikes. They are not Wall-mart cheap bikes as some of these bikes do use real components that can be upgraded. Just because some people don't recognize the manufacturer does not mean they are crap. What I mean is the Vilano FORZA 4.0 at $450 dollars would be like a entry lvl Specialized bike but saving you $200 dollars because the company is new trying to enter the market.
Someone like imheadstrong points out if you are a serious bike rider and ride 2k+ bikes these bikes will be Crap Crap Crap as they are way cheaper because they are entry level bikes. -
