I'm a bit late on the feedback and subscribing, but imo, upgrading to the liter bikes from 600 is more than just the power. The liter bikes offer way more technology, and that's worth it. Some of the 600's are getting better tech these days, but generally, with a liter upgrade you are getting TC, ABS, anti-wheelie, driving modes, etc.
like I said some of the 600's are getting that stuff, or 1 or 2 of the options, but not all.
Most of that tech is for street riding. So to say liter bikes are meant for street riding, is just odd and a bit uninformed.
Regarding displacement and what's "needed" on the street, I hear you. -
I had a r1 and sold it I bought a ninja zx6e because it was a good price and a 600 is all you need but the r1 was faster
-
600rr does 155mph, clock might indicate more, but true speed is 155 160 max, and you buy a 1000cc for grunt not having to scream the tits of it to get any power

i,ve had 7 different 600s over the years the last one being the 2013 CBR600RR (repsol model) i've also had 3 1000s and TBH although the 1000s could be too much for the streets their fuel economy was better than the 600s as on the 600s you're up and down the gears like a fiddlers elbow to keep them in the sweet spot.
but this January i found the IMO perfect compromise, the 2015 GSX-R750 Suzuki in Motogp colours, it was £600 ($900) cheaper than the 2015 CBR600RR, it's 8 kilos (17.6 pounds) lighter has the same frame as the gixer 600 and actually handles better than my CBR600 and unlike the pretty poor 30 mpg of the CBR it returns 42 mpg, which from a bike kicking out 161 BHP on the dyno (with the full Yoshimura exhaust system) and 149.2 bhp in standard form, which is 1.2 bhp more than the 148 Suzuki claim, which is very refreshing when most manufacturers (especially Italian factories) exagerate their bikes horse power when most give bhp measured at the crank not the back wheel and even then many claim their Ram air system gives another 10% which of course is impossible to prove or refute.
IMO the 750 provides the best of both worlds, the lightness, handling and price of the best 600s (in fact £1,000/$1,500 cheaper than the Triumph Daytona 675R) and it kicks out nearly another 50% power on top of what the 600 supersports bikes produce.
anyone who's ridden the GSX-R750 will tell you, that from A to B cross country on A roads, dual carriageways and motorways the 750s the perfect tool.
i really don't know why all the other factories don't make 750s , they'd sell like hot cakes and a sales war with all the factories would be great for us the buyers as they'd be constantly trying to produce the best in the class which could only be good for the buyers. -
This dude dont know dick about dick. A 1000cc gets better mpg on the highway than a 600cc.... its like flooring a mini cooper uphill vs 1/4 throttle a v8. The v8 will get better mileage

Hey cyclecruza Ive been riding a cruiser honda magna v4 750 which has a sportbike engine, but I wanted to sell it and get a sportbike. I was thinking of a cbr or gsxr 600, or even a ninja 250. But do you think ama miss the hp from my magna.
Ps ive never used a sportbike, so I do not know the literal differences in speed. -
Why do people watch this fuck's videos. He knows nothing about riding other than flat banding a commuter bike.
-
"how much more faster..." smh
-
Hmm I started on a 600. It was slow tho. The I got a fz1. Then I got a gsxr 1000. Now that gsxr has 600cc mode, 750 cc mode and of course normal. I use it daily... i weigh 130 lbs. owned it for 2 years. I would not go back down to a 600 after you experience what a 1000 can go. Mostly everyone in my town has a 600. Insurance I pay around 70 dllrs a year liability. I get 40 and 45 mpg.

There is no point in owning even a 600 super sport if you're JUST gonna leisurely putter along on a country road the way you are in this video.
-
Your rolling along on a 600cc super-sport bike on the highway in 6th cruising along, something happens and you need to evade a situation. You wick the throttle wide open..guess what happens?...Nothing..Drop 4 gears into 2nd and punch it, yeah something happens, but you have been run over by then. Crushing massive mid-range rules for the street. Having a bike you need to spool up to 14k rpm on the street is pretty useless. Of course since were on it, owning a sport bike, if you do not attend track days, is totally completely pointless. There is zero advantage to owning one for street riding, they are no faster than naked and sport-touring bikes, and massively less comfortable. You mentioned an Aprilia RSV4, if you don't spend a lot of time at the track, the RSV4 Tuono is a far better bike.

Cycle cruza what do think of a 750cc ? Is it necessary?
-
I can totally understand the need for a litre bike on the streets. It's not about the top speed as much as the torque.
In my opinion i DOWNGRADED from a CFMOTO 650nk to a CBR600RR. The honda has a faster top speed but the torque of the 650 made it much nicer to ride on the street.
Keep in mind this is just my personal opnion. top speed and HP are irrelivant on a street bike it's the torque that counts -
1 YOUR CBR600rr dose not do 177 mph no way
2 insurance in uk is cheep as chips lol
3 600cc sports bikes are fast yes but 1000cc bikes keep accelerating past 140 mph when 600cc start to struggle
4 one think u are right the aprilla is the worst bike to ride on the street :) BUT SO MUCH FUN
5 what about motorway/freeway riding 1000 + bikes are perfect, well most are lol -
I had to pay ~ $1800 per summer for insurance with my 2004 GSXR-600. Full coverage, and I was under 25.
