It keeps weight low and center on the bike frame and leverages your rear cassette to improve climbing or speed but may wear your chain and cogs more quickly as a result. This kit offers pedal assist and throttle mode and comes with the motor, front ring, cranks, brake levers and display but you'll need to buy a battery pack separately. This is also referred to as the Bafang BBS02 kit with 750 watt middrive.

They also do a motor that detects the gears & when you change, you can also buy the sensor that does the same thing, I think you need to read up a bit more on what the BBS01/BBS02 Mid Drive motor kits do.

I thought all their kits are street legal from the 250w to 1000w has the speed is governed either with the control box on older models or internally in the motor on the newer models.

5:12 you can program these anyway you like. There are up to 9 levels of assist and you can also turn on thumb throttle only mode. Some of these can be done only via the programming cable and others through the head unit alone.

This pretty much is exactly what I want, but the kit costs more than some entire electric bikes. I mean, if the battery runs $800, I may as well buy an entire bike. Does anyone know of a good mountain bike type mid drive that has the nuvinci? I don't want a mid drive without that.

I am confusing on two ebike kits, this one and the new Leed 500s front wheel hub motor.
What's your advice ? -
I hate German law so much, 250 is the legal limit here, over that it is counted as a scooter and I would need to get it through extensive and expensive testing process to have it registered as a scooter :(
