When removing pedals, orient yourself so that you are pulling the wrench towards yourself, rather than pushing on the wrench toward anything "pokey". Apply equal pressure to opposite crank arm. When the pedal breaks free it is much easier to control what your hand does/where it goes. This is sometime easier with a repair stand.

I Bought A New Bike That Different than My Old , The Old Was Just A Single Speed , But My New One It Has A 6 Speed , But I Didn't Ride It Yet , I Will Do Tomorrow So Can Someone Give Me The Whole Differences In Between Them , I Know That The Multispeed Is Alot Faster Than The Single One But I Want To Know More

90-100PSI is just as bullshit as putting 120PSI in there. You're supposed to calculate air pressure based on your weight and the tyre's size. There is no one size fits all pressure.
Mistake 6: Trusting GCN -
Try going tubeless

great video, except for the tightening of every bolt. That really differs so much per bike and clamp. If you install another clamp with N*m indication on it but it has 2 bolts instead of 1, or if you use mounting paste or lubrication on the bolts them self or locktight, everything changes. Just like the thing: where to use grease and where not while mounting parts (bolts, stem, bars, post etc.) can be hard to decide because many books, mechanics and videos tell you different things. If you are an experienced mechanic and you haven't ran into problems over the years, you know your bike well and should do what feels good.

Baked!

why are there no female mechanics? discrimination at work?
-
yep... i totally bashed my knuckle against the chainring whilst working on my pedal
-
do not check tyres with your hand, if it was the tip of a needle (unlikely i know but might happen) the last thing you will be worrying about is your puncture.
-
Chain to spoke contact? That's why spoke protectors are made. Oh that's right, 'not fashionable'!

The best way to avoid mistakes is actually to make some mistakes in the first place. Unless you are stupid, you should never do the same mistake twice. Of course this video helps a lot, but there are literally thousands of ways to fuck up your bike while trying to maintaining it, and we can't cover all them up. I scrapped a few components with my first bikes, now I'm almost a pro.

My back wheel (on my mtb) when the brakes are on full,is rocking back and forth a little bit. Its like theres just a tiny bit of movement when I push the bike forward and backwards. Does a'one know how to fix this? Its annoying the sh out of me and I don't y if it's safe or not to ride it on trails like this.

I literally just broke a spoke yesterday because I didn't check the derailleur on a secondhand bike.
-
i did actually do that last one before ... i slammed my palm right into the big chain ring.... yea.. blood indeed. I wear mechanic gloves when swap pedals now.

5:03 What is that on the crank arm?

Hi, if I get a puncture, before removing the inner tube, I mark on the tyre with a pencil where the valve is. Then when you remove the inner tube, inflate it to see where the puncture is. Once located place the valve next to the mark on the tyre. See where your puncture is and at that point feel inside the tyre to locate any sharp objects. Joe

I usualy tight my ram break bolts cause when i ride really fast they start moving left and right and i almost crashed cause of that ans ruined my tyre!
-
Talking of pedal injurys I may of chipped a bone in my foot or a soft tissue injury by hitting my foot on the pedal really really hard
-
You forgot the flat head screwdriver tube replacement :D
(Don't try this at home! haha) -
Local bike shop Drills out the bolt and then replaces it? Some bolts aren't even available any more, like the tiny 2-3mm easily stripped center adjustment bolt on DA and Ultegra direct-mount brakes or the derailleur main spring. NEVER throw away old parts, you may need the bolts.
