5. This is based off of the bible principle, "there is more happiness in giving than receiving." Ancient wisdom.
6. This is not a valid research. A sudden uplift in mood/happiness is probably also because of a somewhat thrilling event (honestly telling someone how much they mean to you). It is because of several factors that they may have a little increase in their mood, not necessarily because they're showing 'gratitude'. If anything, it's more about doing good for other people and their positive outcomes that may make you a happy person, not the sole act of acting grateful.

9. Im greatful for my younger brother, not only because i have someone to talk to and is always there. But because he got me out of deppression and stopped from suiciding in the garage. Im grateful that he helped me see what i had lost sight of, he helped me see what was in front of me this whole time. Which was my family, my brother saved my life. Gave me hope that things would get better. My brother is my best friend that nothing / no one can replace. Im grateful for having him around, despite the times that we fight and hate eachother. There isnt anything in the world that will change that. My brother who is now 12 at the time has saved the life of someone who was 17 and have been going into the darkest moments of deppression. Thanks to him, I'm still in good health. My younger brother, whom at the time didnt care of what i did for the longest time, did something that even i couldnt do. That was, showing me the pain that loved ones would have to endure, for my careless thoughts, while blinded in deppression. Thanks to him I found what i have been missing. Thank you bro. For having my back when i needed it the most then and now.
10. No ONE and no THING can make you happy. Happiness comes from inside us, not external. If you say that your boyfriend or wife doesn't make you happy anymore, they not only can't make you happy but why should they? It's hard enough for each human to evolve inside to find happiness within themselves and no matter how many things they do for you, no one can make you happy for real. Buying gifts and standing on your head for someone just to make them happy is like putting a band aid on top of cancer. Each person's journey in life is to find a way to be happy or at least content on their own amidst all the ups and downs of life. If you say you aren't happy due to a person, you already lose because you are giving up your personal power to another person and being too weak to do your own inner work yourself. Our life on earth is a classroom and how much we evolve inside and how we choose to interact with others shows whether we die winners or losers. Don't spend your life looking to others or things to make you happy, because there are very poor, very sick, and people who are alone in life that have found a way to be happy despite their circumstances. I always remember this video that shows these kids in Africa somewhere who don't have a playstation and probably only eat once a day. They were laughing and smiling while hitting an old flat ball with a stick, I see mothers who work 3 jobs to take care of their 2-4 kids with no help from family who are joyful for their life and don't blame the world. It's easier to blame others for your lot in life but perhaps those with more are unhappy too. Life is a journey of ups and downs, the ups are gifts and the downs are lessons, don't make it more than it is. You WIN when you die HAPPY, but you die alone and you die penniless because no ONE and no THING is buried along with you.

18. Cute vid, and love the idea behind SoulPancake and expressing gratitude - but that's not how causation and statistics works. (re: the claim about the least happy person > having the biggest improvement in happiness =>> when having a tough time > gratitude will you happier.) You can't really conclude anything with one person, really. I dislike when a kid in a lab coat is made to present false statements as scientific fact -_-
