When I go riding with DapperYank, one of the things we frequently talk about is the difference between our bikes. In this case, we started talking about the differences between many of the modern 600's and some of the literbikes, and how Honda quit making the CBR600RR. This led into a discussion about how 600's are slowly being replaced with literbikes, and how the 600cc bike may not be an option for too long into the future. With literbikes offering increasingly more options for traction control, ABS, and power management, the 600cc is indeed seeming like less and less of a desirable option for consumers. However, there are several companies that still offer excellent 600cc sportbikes. The GSXR600, the Ninja 600R, and the R6 are all excellent bikes that are still being produced in high volume. Although the CBR600RR has ceased production for now, this may be a window of opportunity for Honda to replace it with a different style bike. Whatever your interests in riding are, remember to vote with your dollar. What you buy from the dealership greatly impacts what motorcycles are offered for sale in the future. If 600s aren't popular as options for consumers, eventually production will cease.
