Are you considering buying an entry level road bike? Will it be the right or wrong choice? The Road Biker here. Welcome to my blog! So, today is the day before Thanksgiving and in this video I talk about my decision to purchase my entry level road bike, a Vilano Shadow and second thoughts I've had. #roadbike #cycling I also relate a story about riding with a friend who owns a "serious" road bike and my take away on buying a $2500 road bike. I also mention another blogger who calls himself the Bike Blogger. I recommend that you check out his channel. He's entertaining and a knowledgeable guy. Hey Bike Blogger!! Hope you enjoy watching this video and that you look for more videos in the future offered by this bike blogger. http://www.bestroadbikesunder1000.net/best-road-bikes-under-500-dollars Check out my website and blog at http://www.TheRoadBiker.com Thanks for watching and coming along... Those storm grates there look deadly. Anyway, I have a few pretty expensive bikes but there is something to be said about an inexpensive bike that you can beat on and not feel to bad doing it. I just bought the same bike you were riding for my indoor trainer after watching your review in another video. My favorite "road" bike is actually a Felt cyclocross bike with disk brakes. I have 105 caliper rim brakes on my Trek and the difference is amazing when the weather gets cold and damp. The disk brakes will even stop you when there's goose shit on your rims. I live in Wisconsin. Those things are everywhere there's water or grass. And let me say, 66 and still getting out there and getting it done is inspiring indeed. Thanks for the video. And watch out for those storm grates. I know I would eventually hit one at night.

enjoyed our vid and I too am a fan of the bike blogger. Ive been riding a hybrid for 6 months and will soon invest in a road bike. After tons of research it seems that lots of people in the know agree that I can definitely find a great bike that will be more than sufficient for about a grand as long as I learn what to look for in terms of frame and fork materials and groupsets. To say I'm hooked on cycling would be an understatement and I'm eager to take the next step! Riding like you do at 66 is very inspiring BTW.....
