My Atomic Zombie homebuilt recumbent trike (Street Fox) has a front wheel shimmy which I am trying to solve. Part 2 will follow if I manage to fix this problem.

Check to see if the caster is correct. The caster is the vertical angle of the front spindle this can cause steering issues also.

Thanks for your comments. I will post up another video if I manage to make adjustments that make a difference to the shimmy effect.

Here is a discussion i googled. http://www.bentrideronline.com/messageboard/showthread.php?s=640c5ed31fe469abb21827665f12eb56&t=90635&page=2
Seems a tiny adjustment in toe may help. Mine works so well otherwise, i have not been overly concerned with it since i keep my hands on the grips anyway and then dont notice it. -
Subscribed. I sure would like to know if you fix it. My SF does the same thing. Its fine as long as i keep a slight hold on the grips but if let them go, i get just about the same effect im seeing in your video. Once i let go i think trying to catch my earbuds that had come off and i nearly shimmed out of control. Fortunately i wasnt going that fast. Ive aligned toe several times and reduced the shimmy it seems. Ive had mine built for over a year now and have ridden it a max of 60 miles in one day with 25-35 being typical. Lousy weather lately, especially when im off work, so no rides in the last few weeks. They are great trikes though if you dont get hung up in the weight thing. I wonder if commercial trikes dont do the same but have not asked anyone. Not sure if they would admit a $4k trike shimmed :-).
