after months I really have grown disenchanted of SRAM e-tab, I see it as gimmicky non positive change: with standard shifters we use one hand for the cogs, one for the chainring; with SRAM we use one hand to go up the cogs, one to move down the cogs, and one extra step that requires the coordination of both hands to shift the god damn chainring...really, that sort of pointless innovation should be avoided.

-
james huang, stop showing off that you have a canyon! the American audience just gets frustrated and can't relate.
-
In fact why not speak out the gear...and do away with hand shifting all together.

Wireless....just figure you can drop a call...now you can drop a derailleur. Where did my signal go....and where my chain didn't go. Remember how voice commands works on Bluetooth headsets. It might not be that bad....but its going to be problems. But you can't argue the quick change of a derailleur in the race...just hope pairing is simple. I'll stick with cables....I ain't that important.

the fear in other component manufactures? shimano have no fear, they are samurai warriors

The paradigm shift isn't in wireless, it's in how you shift. Internationally it's always been left hand = front derailleur and right hand = rear derailleur, partly due to the matter of running cabling through bike and shifter.
SRAM Red eTap changes that. Left hand = easier cogs, right hand = harder cogs, both hands = front chainring shift. The wireless nature of the shifters and derailleurs makes that possible. -
dude is all over sram's nuts.

amazing this is truly awsome on what we have come to till this day in technology. My concern is that for example if the system fails which happens on the newest devices out there everyday and you are at a high speed and need to break and wont be able to what will happen?

Does that American guy work for SRAM? In no way is a wireless groupset some kind of paradigm shift in shifting
