Figure your bicycling days are over because your knees are shot? The Trek Pure- http://epicreviewguys.com/Trek-Pure uses a "pedal forward" design that takes the strain off the knees and back and lets you ride for comfort- not competition. The Trek Pure is a 7-speed, lightweight bicycle that is aimed at more casual riders. I have owned mine for several months now and really love it. My 10-year-old and I go out on regular bike rides now and I can actually stand up straight and walk normally when we get back from the ride. Trek makes great bikes and even though the Pure is one of the less expensive models it will still cost you $489 new. I got mine for about half that via a bike shop selling used on Craigslist. Keep an eye out for a well maintained used Trek Pure and for a couple hundred dollars you could buy a bike that will last you the rest of your life. Recorded in Ultra HD 4k. I recently bought a Raleigh Venture 3.0 for a day to day commuter bike. It's got a design fairly similar to the bike in this video. After riding mountain bikes for many years (which require an extremely forward leaning posture) it's great to be able to pedal with an upright posture. Not only is the bike very comfortable to ride, it also feels safer, as it's much easier to glance over my shoulder to do shoulder checks. The one drawback I've found with this style of bike is my back feels some discomfort if pedaling with a loaded backpack. If you plan on using this style of bike for errands where you have to carry lots of things (like a trip to the grocery store), I'd recommend to adding a rear rack to accommodate pannier bags. The Raleigh Venture is also great for light off-road terrain like gravel pathways or hard-packed dirt trails....but I'd still use with a traditional mountain bike for fast riding on rougher terrain.

I can imagine riding a bike down that freshly asphalted road in a quite American suburb - the sunshine, the green around, the birds singing, the silent ride... Nice!

I test road the Electra Townie and the Trek Pure today and I thought that the Trek Pure was better built and the seat was much more comfortable than the Townie. While I love that the Electra Townie has a chain guard, I found the ride on the Pure to be superior. On the Townie, I felt very uncomfortable riding the very hard front tilting seat and holding on to the smooth handlebar grips, which felt like smooth tape. On the other hand, the Trek Pure had a thicker frame, a super cushy seat, beautiful frame welds and much better handlebar grips. I don't know who would even think of changing the seat out of the Pure cuz it felt like a Lazyboy lounger! LOL. I just wish they had nicer colors for women, like blue, red and green, instead of lavender and a color that looks like Crest toothpaste.

Can you show you daughter/s one time in a video

How comfortable is the seat after biking for more than 30 minutes? Every single bike I've purchased the seats are AWFUL and so uncomfortable. I even purchased a gel seat cover but it still is uncomfortable.

Great Video. I've heard a lot of great things about Trek bikes. But all in all how is the seat ? A better quality bike should have a better seat ! I know as a kid I grew up in the banana seat era and they were just uncomfortable. Thanks for all the great videos

BTW, I agree that the number of gears is overrated... I have a "21-speed" bicycle in reality I use only 4-5

I thought older people preferred stationary bicycles, so they don't get into accidental accidents.. .:D

People this is not a race to see who can get the first, second and third comment. Cause you are just making yourself look foolish thinking that this is a popularity contest for Youtube.
