brilliant video, cheers. I'm left wondering why companies keep messing around with what should be a done deal?

Excellent Video... I am an old school bike mechanic from back in the day, 70,s 80,s 90's. I g ot my start building wheels for a factory. That's how I got started. Knowing the new technology is crucial to getting along with today's bikes. Believe it or not I still use downtube shifters. I am upgrading to newer equipment and this is the area I needed more schooling in.. Thank you!

Great Vid, thanks for taking the time. I can now measure and replace my damaged square tapered BB with relative confidence!

are all the external screw in type bottom brackets fittable with the same size bb tool? or are there subtle differences? also will a hollow tech 2 bb fit any type of crankset?

I really need help. On my Specialized Pitch I have a Square taper crappy VP 73mm x 122.5mm and want to buy a Shimano Deore XT, XTR or ZEE crankset. But there are no sizes 73mm x 122.5mm. I'm really confused. Please help and thanks.

Very informative, and very entertaining. You are a kick to watch. I want to see more.

I have an old Pedicab bike frame that I want to rebuild. The crank hole diameter is 50mm and 68mm wide, your video does not mention that combination. Any idea what crank assembly I can purchase?

-

This was excellent! What you missed was the really old, (now I guess), cup type and what this could be upgraded to. This I think might be helpful to some like me who are wishing to improve the power train from the older system for more reliability.

what about if I use a conversion kit American to English threaded. can I use a GXP, ISIS, POWERSLITE, ect. in mtb?
-
can I use a BB30 crankset in a American BB sell? because you don't mention nothing about 1 piece American BB.

Hello can can you make a video that show the difference between each bottom bracket by perfomance? like spinning the crankset if how many seconds will it spin

Thanks very much for this video! This is simply the best video out there that explains the bike industries mess of BB, simple and precise! And we wonder why when we go into our local bike shop and they don't have that particular BB in stock,( not to mention tubes)! It also gives you an idea of how each type of crank is put together and how it works! Thanks again for your hard work putting this presentation together!!!

Wow. Just wow. I am more of a car guy. Know almost nothing about bikes. This video is VERY helpful and clear. I appreciate your methodical approach. Have to replace a worn bottom bracket on my 1997 Cannondale H200. Didn't know where to start. Now I do. Any thoughts on a good replacement part? Everything is stock, but I want to upgrade for my son. -Kudos!
