Bicycle commuting in snow
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Bicycle commute in snow (11 inches) and cold (-3 degrees F). Made possible by studded tires. This isn't about transportation... it's about adventure! Trip to work was on hard-pack/icy surfaces. Trip home was on partially thawing hard pack - like riding in lose sand (and would have been better on fat bike).

I am planning on joining 'The Frozen Few" this winter, I am a bit further north and plan on riding as many days as the weather will allow this winter. Up here as long as it's not double digits below zero with a wind chill or the roads are not "good" after the last snow, I would just as soon drive to work at that point. If I had a fat bike, I'd go balls out, but with my hybrid I have to use my winter tires and use caution. I did a little riding around my town last winter when the streets were dry. To think how much riding I did in the winter as a kid baffles me.....but that was over 30 years ago now, haha.
