All you've said I agree with my town is mostly flat. You can take advantage of places neither cars nor motorbikes can go. wear reflective & fluorescent clothing to be seen better. Also ebikes are a valid option I guess as I get older I'll look at it. I still say Christmas have a merry Christmas

my pro for riding at night is there are less people out driving con is that it is cold and dangerous without flashlight and reflective gear
-
Thanx a lot for all of this, BB.
-
Pro: Save money and you stay in shape. Con: Down here in FL the weather changes a lot.

exactly not inside a bubble where sum people just not living life

Great vid, BB! I'm subscribing to your channel. Recently, I began commuting to my workplace, which is a 10.5 mile trip one way. I've only put just over 120 miles on my new 2015 Izip E3 Path+ because the weather here in Oklahoma hasn't been the best these past 3 weeks, and it's forced me several times to drive my truck. I'll have to get some rain gear this weekend. Anyway, you've inspired me to start hunting for a single speed bike to use when I don't have to commute to work. On the weekends I use my cheap Schwinn 21-speed hybrid, which is a real lightweight compared to the ebike, but a single speed would be a great challenge, and it reminds me of the bikes I used to ride when I was very young. Well, please keep up the good work, and ride safe dude!

How many miles did you cycle from the start to the end of this video recording? Also, what front light were you using, it's so bright. I have just started to partly commute by bike, I ride to the local train station and take my bike on the train, I then cycle a couple of miles to work. It's nothing too demanding, but it's better than walking and far quicker.
Happy Christmas from England, it is now May...lol. -
You have to see traffic in India. I wish my city had such less vehicles and such good roads.
-
I hate this political correctness. They are CHRISTMAS LIGHTS not holiday lights thank you very much and whoever does like that statement too bad have a nice day. I enjoy your videos thx
-
I'm a little worried about riding on traffic streets. Do you use rear view mirrors? And also, have you had any issues with cops?
-
that's a lot of rambling...

atheist? wtf?

In fact, in Holland more women than men bicycle commute. but then Holland actually designs their roadways to accommodate bicycles and people don't feel that they have a target on their back, as we cyclists in the U.S. often do.
Also, I bicycle commute to be self reliant. The old car I have is not reliable at this point and I am seriously thinking of not having a car at all. -
Dude, there are plenty of women who bicycle commute. I bicycle commute 26 miles a day, rain or shine, sun or snow. Been doing so for 6 years. I have 3 bikes, one for road, hybrid and fat tire snow bike. A bike for all seasons.

love your vids bro !!!

hi bike blogger i would like to know how you feel about using a vintage or antique bicycle for every day commuting thank you bike blogger. ps i hope you are feeling better from your cold

Sgt Per said he's gonna be hiding to catch you using lane control Blogger lol. Yeah, I love cycling to. I just set fire to 2500 calories today and did 3K calories yesterday!! Today was freaking cold as Pluto. I was lucky the air was so dry otherwise my derailleur would start to freeze over. I've had this happen before and believe me it's no fun being stuck in the middle of your cassette spinning like crazy and going slow as hell. The friction takes forever to "heat" up the chain drive and start shifting again.
But cycling in the winter is not too bad. Tonight took a whopping 18 minutes for my core to heat up and stop being stingy with the jot blood and share it with my extremities lol. I also wore my new Gore tec wind stopper balaclava for the first time this winter. And I also had the Gore neoprene shoe covers on. DUDE....IT IS COLD!!! Winter is so here. But once my fingers and toe started to get their fair share of hot blood, the riding was awesome. I had a 10mph tailwind that had me coasting along nice and easy.....almost too easy as it turned out.
There I was Blogger, barreling down on a massive sheet of ice at 20mph! If not for my head lights set on 500 lumen medium, it would have been a total wip out. But I was able to rapidly slow and remain in control seconds before my front wheel hit the ice. Blogger.....I don't know about you, but I get a ton of shit from people who think I spend too much on my bicycle. But everything I've been talking about in this comment would not have been possible if not for my entire cachet of cycling kit. Its why I'm able to take to the road in deep winter and remain warm on the bike. its why I can blast through the sharp rocks in the gutter when a car or truck is flanking me and I don't have the option to swerve. Try to fix a flat with frost bit fingers is next to impossible.
I love my bike and nothing but death will keep me off it. -
what cost range are you thinking for a good quality bike? struggling with this, want a hybrid/fitness type. more upright to relieve some neck strain . do about 90-100 miles per week. debating getting a lower end an updating a few compo nents. or bite the bullet and drop 7-800 on a bike won't have to upgrade at least not immediately. did you have a similar dilemma?
-
Atheist here, and I care very much about making the world a better place :) Cycling is a great way of working towards that goal. I think you also mentioned being a vegan in your other videos, which I think is another essential component to reducing agricultural waste and alleviating a lot of needless suffering among non-human creatures.
