Bicycle Rush Hour Snow - Utrecht, Netherlands
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
The first snow of the winter of 2009/2010 and the Netherlands came to a grinding halt. Motorised traffic and the trains that is, not the cyclists. They kept on going as they always do. Commuters going to work in the dark winter morning. Later on in the day we see more cyclists, a lot of whom are university students and school children. Ending with a Dutch icon...

damn dutch got no bloody sense,
why is everybody wearing black....trying to lose as much heat ??? -
Brits should learn from you. Here in UK even the lightest snowfall means total chaos and gridlock on all streets.

I am going to ring up Billy boy ..... our Bill O'reilly he will LOVE this.... yeah he loves cycling yeah he told me .....

The trick is not to be afraid.
If your afraid, you wil fall.
Just pick up the speed and go.
And starting cycling from the age of 4 or 5 helps too :-) -

i would love to live there and just bike anywhere. No helmets required :)

My nearly 300 lb. fat Amurkin Arse wouldn't last a week there. Hence, you are obviously subversive types in need of correction. You will be hearing from my seconds soon.

Move to Poland :D

In Holland, if the street lights are still on and you ride a bike without light then you can get a ticket of €40 or something like that
-
Its just easier and quicker by bike.

I have a car and four bikes , one for buying groceries , one for going places and two for fun and exercise. I cycle for many shorter journeys in the city5 miles because when you take in finding parking, other traffic and walking from parking to where you want to be its usually quicker by bike. I don't cycle for exercise I cycle because I'm to lazy to walk and to impationed

Do you assume cyclist don't own a car? Most car owners also own bicycles. I have 4 bikes. 2 for daily trips to work (a spare bike), a racing bike for recreational purposes (full carbon of course) and a foldable bike in my car ... to avoid having to pay for a parking space in cities ;)

I'm going to study in Utrecht later this year. Which is interesting because I'm going to go from an Australian winter straight to a Dutch winter.
