1. What was the most amount of water you had to carry at one time? I've heard people say 25 to 40 liters, but it looks like there's enough roadhouses along the 1 in Western Australia?

7. Thanks for the videos Chris. Sure we will catch up one day. I am touring more and more as time permits and live temporarily in Perth but Melbourne is home. I love the outback and will ride home once my time in Perth if finished. While I am here I get out every 2nd weekend for 4 to 6 days. I am currently planning a trip from Kalgoorlie to Esperence and the around to Albany. Cheers and thanks again.
8. In 2006, I & my two children (15 & 17 then) had been part of a "Face the Outback" tour from Alice to Adelaide with Wayward Bus, Gangles driving. I regularly think about returning & pedaling my Doublevision throughout the Land of Oz. The worst, anywhere, are headwinds. Regardless, maybe in a few years I'll be 'round pedaling right through, headwinds & all. Good onya for showing the route! TA

10. Hi Chris, great video. It´s a dream for me to travelling through Australia by bike. I am planning to realise this dream in midst of July this year. I´ve never been to Australia but I have friends telling me about it and one who travelled from Perth to Melbourne by bike. I did bike trips in Europe in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Austria and Germany so I have a little bit experience. Since there are a lot of great locations I wanted to ask what route can you recommend? What difficulties are there? All the best!

14. Like this video Chris. It is a dream for me to do that, travelling on a bike trough the outback of Australia. I live practically on the other side of the world, in The Netherlands, so some problems will be has to be overcome...The enormous emptiness is what me attracts me and however I never been to Australia I like you people. The language, I do not how to say it, it attracts me in some way. All the best!

    Do you think a touring bike is better with front suspensions or without if 85pc of the cycling is done on roads and the rest on hard dirt tracks?`
