What brand of handlebar mirror do you have? Thanks in advance.
-
Did your bar bag clear the additional brake levers ok?
-
Enjoy every state all are cool

Good luck and have a great trip.
-
there is a reach adjustment screw under the rubber hoods that would of fixed your braking problems.

I totally agree with you about the brakes, much better to have them close especially when you need to apply them in an emergency. Do you charge your Garmin via a dynamo? What is the battery life like with them? Wish you a great trip! It is great to get tips from each other for cycle touring. I Hope you are aware of Bicycle touring pro, Daren Alff here on YouTube, Facebook and the other social media. He lives in america and is at home for the time being. he is the type that might would like to meet up with you. He loves to tour Europe and semes like a really nice guy, not the yankee style stereotype lol :-) Remember, you might be able to find free or affordable WiFi in librarys, café's campsites, public transpotation and so on. Little updates as you go along could be great :-) If you would like your YouTube Chanel to grow these things things could help, I think. I have found a quite easy to use vide editing app. and my phone does some small videos from the clips and photos all by it self. I understand if you want a more quiet trip by yourself as well. Have a great trip, I'm not worthy of giving you real tourers advise anyways, my little 2 week adventure in Germany this summer... ha ha :-) It was actually partially inspired by you and Darren Alff, so I hope to get some videos edited, at least they can serve as a sort of photo album for myself lol. have a great trip, remember, the Journey can be in the Journey itself ;-)

nice video. have an awesome trip.
I use to have the top breaks on my touring bike also, they are good. I ended up taking them off for the reasons you mentioned, (I am a guy with big hands and easily brake with 2 fingers on the hoods.)
tell me about the Garmin GPS, does it let you plan and program routes into it out does it just show you where you are? I still use paper maps now but would like to change.
and battery life, do you need charge it all the time?
thanks again and have an awesome trip.
