BicycleSPACE Bike to the Beach Ride and Party: A Full Moon Outing

Coinciding with BicycleSPACE's two year anniversary, the shop hosted a Full Moon Outing-- another in a series of monthly night-time rides that have each attracted hundreds of participants. Yet again, a large crowd showed up-- this time to Bike to the Beach! The huge group rode through the city and enjoyed a perfect moonlit night. Highlights included swooping through a large underpass, passing astonished onlookers on 17th Street, cruising by the White House, and stopping for a break at a beautiful park on the north side of the Capitol Building. Upon looping back towards the shop, riders settled at the New York Avenue Beach Bar-- a unique, outdoor, beach-themed retreat complete with thatched, tiki-style bars, picnic tables and lounge chairs shaded by umbrellas, and (oh yes) plenty of sand. There, a bike valet had been set up to stow bikes while people went in to celebrate. In honor of BicycleSPACE's milestone, numerous great prizes were given away including a Linus bicycle to one lucky winner. All in all, it was a great night to look back on the shop's many early successes and to toast to new accomplishments to come. It was especially great to be in the company of many friends who have helped us along the way. We would like to thank the New York Avenue Beach Bar for hosting our party and Linus for supporting us and being a valued partner in our first two years of business.
