Bike Life: Outlaw Moto X in NYC!
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
This week Timbo takes it to Harlem to meet Benmore aka Benadon, the King of Harlem's Bike Life, an urban offshoot of motocross that swells every summer as thousands of riders take to city streets on offroad motorcycles and ATV's. While the media often portrays these riders as criminals and the police use dubious tactics against them, Benmore explains why riding bikes is a far better alternative to crime and violence and should be embraced as an emerging urban sport. "We" put the dirtbike on the street ... "The slums" made a sport ... Thats like saying I made birds walk on the ground

I give these guys credit to bringing a passion to their streets that was not there before. Who cares if it was already invented or what not. People need to understand that this is hell of a lot better thing to go on than gangs and drugs, even if it's not done in the safest of environments or circumstances. Crude as it may be now, as everything starts of as, this could evolve to something bigger that could also be safer for everyone- i say give it time.

Ride On, I've been doing this since 1975. Started on a Honda 50cc.. Cops only caught me 2 times, and let me go.

You can only do so much on the street with a dirt bike bruh. I love dirt bikes and they are my outlet/passion, but I don't consider popping wheelies a sport. It gets hella boring after a while and the only real sport of it, after these guys master the wheelie, is dodging citizens in cars, on foot etc. Lots of kids have been killed, left with traumatic brain injuries (cause they don't have the sense to wear helmets-or it isnt "cool") imitating these fools and it is mostly just reckless abandonment and disregard for public safety. I didn't mention the people/children who get hit by these maniacs. Take your DIRT bike onto the DIRT and have a ball son. Ripping through the neighborhoods and terrorizing older folks, kids, and their parents is just not cool. IF you cant afford a trailer hitch and a pickup truck....save up like you did for your YZ450's and when you earn enough cash, go buy a used vehicle to transport your bikes to the woods, sand, track etc. There are so many spots to ride just beyond the city limits. I live in Philly and we have all kinds of spots to ride 'in" the city legally and away from people who don't want to spectate. Forcing people to be spectators is terrorizing people in YOUR community. Risking your lives and joe publics just to ride a wheelie 10 blocks is hardly a sport killa. I will say....these dues would be great legit MX riders
