Bikeberry 80cc Bike Engine Kit Test
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Today we try out our recently installed Bike Engine kit. The 80cc kit shows a displacement of 66cc on the engine casing. we have installed it on a huffy mountain bike with minor mechanical difficulty. we build an add on spring loaded idler using parts from the idler included in the kit. This project requires reasonably good tools and mechanical skills. The engine is over powered for a bicycle. The compression mount sprocket on the rear wheel is damaging to the spoke system as well. Also, there is risk of leg burns from the muffler and engine heat. The home made spring idler has eliminated chair derailment. Impression: This is an interesting kit to explore small engines, and motorized bicycle possiblilities, but is a somewhat dangerous and probably unreliable long term form of transportation.

How loud would you say it is on a scale of 1-10, one being a nearly inaudible whisper, and 10 being near-deafening?
-
To reduce damage to the spokes, do not tourqe down the sprocket too tight

At the beginning your chain looks extremely loose. Tighten it or it could come off and possibly lock up the rear wheel, idk how long about this was, just trying to help m8

why do they sell these kits if police are going to give you a ticket. Why should u get a ticket for having this.
I mean seriously! cant we people just have fun for once. we don't need no stupid rules to make are lives boring. These stupid rules are probably the reason why a lot of people now days play on their computers and become indoor people. -
+Jim Horwitz do all 80cc motor kits have the same speed.
I found a kit on ebay and it says
speed limitations: 38km
does that mean it only goes that fast because i've seen people go up to 50 to 60 mph -
A bit safer then the 3.5hp briggs I cut and paste in to a Huffy frame. Cut down tube and welded plate on bottom, removed pedals because there were in the way, had to use 12" tire in rear with a welded a front sprocket to, only front brakes, had pully throttle on center tube, cut seat tube out to make room for motor.... oh yah MUCH SAFER then the BS I made.

I'm buying one of these kits and buying the pull start for it and too hell with the pedals
