There’s an ongoing war: bikes vs cars. A multi-billion dollar industry that from early days has done everything to make society car dependent. Oil prices, traffic gridlock opens up for bicycle revenge. Creative initiatives pop up, politicians and activists take on the mighty car. The car lobbyists have an enormous impact on city planning, in history and today. Do politicians dare to challenge the lobbyists?

Bicycle are legit road users.

How do people get drivers licenses if they don't know that bicycle always have right of way. (this is on the drivers licensing test) And when a pedestrian steps off the curb at an intersection, they also have right away even if the cross walk is not painted. Everyone would be better off if they where required to pass a written test each time they renew their drivers license. Lives would be saved. (I think drivers have very short memories when it comes to rules of the road) I wish police would do their job and ticket people for not obeying traffic laws.

During SXSW we’ll meet up at Create, in the space where bikes and tech meet to greet filmmakers, city planners, and advocates. After that we’ll ride to watch Bikes vs. Cars at Republic Square Park. Sunday, March 15, 3:30PM - 5:30PM, Long Center West Pincer Terrace.
