Bikes VS Cars: The False Dichotomy
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Too often discussion about bike policy and infrastructure is framed as hostile towards motor vehicles. However, policy and infrastructure that's good for bikes is good for cars and pedestrians as well. The false dichotomy is not good for anyone.

WTF! - At 1:28 you have a graphic, "Car doors open to a safer place". "Doorings" are the third most common accident for cyclists in bike lanes (right hooks and left crosses are tied for #1). The safest place to ride in the DZBL is in the "Buffer".

the drivers that behave badly in traffic should be punished with their Driver's licence revoked and never to be instated for 1 year. and on the second revokation for 2 years then 5 then 10 and so on. obligating them to have to pass the driver exam again when the want their licence back, and cyclists should have to pass a free road law exam so they will know the law.

If just 25% of those in Metro LA cycled, 4.5 million people would be biking. Those cyclists would take an enormous amount of pressure of LA's freeways and roads, which are notorious for being congested, time wasters and dangerous. If a third of those in the Greater Los Angeles Area cycled, then 6 million would be biking, taking even more pressure off LA's roads. Even in January, the temperature is only 8 Celsius at the low point. Easily warm enough the cycle.

One of the cars given as an example of bad driving is actually following the law. Drivers are supposed to enter bike lanes before making a turn. That way, they don't cut off a cyclist and potentially cause an accident.
