Bio-Hybrid | Fully Charged
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
This is a Fully Charged exclusive! Not something that has ever happened before. We present the prototype Schaeffler Bio-Hybrid personal transport system. A pedal assist car? A four wheeled bike? So easy to move along and just enormous fun to drive/ride. Let's hope they develop this into a fully fledged product. In 50 years from now when global oil supplies are all used up, battery assisted pedal powered cars will be the ONLY practical 'affordable' forms of transportation for the majority of the masses. Because by that time, filling up a fuel tank on a conventional car will cost $500 or more.

Hi Robert. On the manufacturer's website it says that there's a second seat. It looks a bit squishy behind the pilot/driver. How does that work?
-
4:40 Okay that roof is cool.

Your production quality is so good! Thank you! Your videos never fail to brighten up my day!

I wish vehicles of this type would become more common. Maybe a step up frrom this with extra seats?
-
Why are they not producing these? Now I'm angry😡

Lovely piece of engineering. Robert really seems to have fun with it. It will cost a lot. Forget about $2000, that is a price for a quality regular electric bike. I would see this at double the price, given the fact it is not made in large volumes and not a cheap labor country.

Take a cargo tricycle, adapt it to 2 front wheels, add canopy roof, or a rear axle trike kit to a tadpole style recumbent and add body work, or any velomobile design, and add a bbshd mid drive conversion kit and battery, not as high tech as its cadence based rather than fancy torque, but retrofitable

This is the way to go... just got to get rid of the ridiculous 250w peddle and silly speed assist limit of is it 15mph when you can ride a normal bike at 25mph.... The government needs to change this to 25mph assist.... They would be great to get to work on imagine they must make 100 times less co2

This , in my opinion, will revolutionise personal transport for the RV and Vandweller community.
A great majority of A-class and large C-class full-time RVrs tow small fuel efficient cars behind them so that when they get to where they're going they have relatively cheap to run transportation to see the sights, go grocery shopping etc. Everyone else tend to carry scooters, motor bikes or bicycles.
These are brilliant for short range chores and if you hook a trailer to them may even haul a reasonable load.
Changes that would help would be a flexible solar panel on the roof and the ability to be able to folder up like a wheelchair or some how be compactable to be stowable or put on a rack front or rear.
This definitely has possibilities.
Love it.
This video is 6min long. -
Thank you for sharing, hadn't heard of this company, really interesting vehicle. Pity though they haven't extended the windscreen further down to cover your feet, they will get very wet when it's raining...

Looks good the price will kill it though. A recumbent for our time.
