Biker Gang Chases SUV and Terrorizes Family, Smashes Window, Beats Driver in Front of 2-Year-Old (Mirro.uk) Bikers attack Range Rover driver after he drives over them during a rally in New York 30 Sep 2013 22:13 The moment was captured on a helmet camera after the altercation took place during an annual bikers' event A driver was attacked by a pack of motorcyclists after he drove over a number of riders during a rally in Manhattan. The moment was captured on a helmet camera after the altercation took place during an annual bikers' event in New York on Sunday. Police said the bikers started to attack the Range Rover after the driver, 33-year-old Alexian Lien, hit a rider. Fearing for the safety of his wife Roslyn Ng and five-month-old child, Mr Lien told police he accelerated to get away. The baby was in the back and Ng was in the front passenger seat. During the six-minute film it appears to show one biker braking in front of the black 4x4 before then being bumped by the driver. As motorcyclists begin to surround the vehicle one rider gets off his bike to remonstrate with the motorist. But as he draws close, the driver fearing for the safety of his wife and young child, aged under five, speeds off, hitting several bikers in his path. As he flees up to 30 angry bikers follow the 4x4 and it takes only a matter of seconds for them to catch up. After following the Range Rover for several minutes the driver is forced to pull over as the bikers and a white SUV block his path. But as one man confronts the man after pulling the door open the Range Rover again speeds off knocking down another biker. A few moments later he is then forced to stop at traffic lights and within seconds two bikers begin attacking the driver's side windows. The first takes off his helmet and smashes it against the door window, smashing it. The second tries to punch through the rear door window. The footage then stops. Today police said no one had been arrested and they are still investigating what happened. A NYPD spokesman said, according to the driver, a large number of motorcyclists were driving "erratically" and he "accidentally collided with one". He added the driver drove off "to avoid an impending assault". The motorist, who is in his thirties, was left needing hospital attention after suffering cuts and bruises to his face and body. The video, posted on web site LiveLeak, led to several viewers supporting the driver. One person, writing under the name Sgt Pepper, said: "I would do exactly the same thing. They're intimidating him and he's probably fearing for his life." Another, 'Zacarra' wrote the driver acted in "self defence". "Did you see the biker break (sic) check him in the beginning. This poor guy was running for his life from the start," zacarra writes. Anarchy in New York City broke out on Manhattan's West Side Highway on the weekend after a family in an SVU was attacked by a group of bikers, NBC News reported. The six-minute pursuit caught on video, which has since gone viral on youtube, began when the driver of a Range Rover called 911 to report chaotic bikers taking part in an illegal rally, intimidating drivers, and trying to take over the road. According to the NYPD, at one point one of the bikers stopped short in front of the SUV, driven by Alexian Lien, who was in the car with wife Rosalyn Ng and their 2-year-old. Lien bumped into the bike, and the bikers surrounded his car, and began to vandalize it, slashing his tires and smashing his mirror. Apparently Lien then panicked and sped off, running over some motorcycles and a biker in the process. The video shows bikers then chasing the driver on the highway until they catch up to him in Harlem upon which one biker removes his helmet and is seen pounding the driver's side window while another rider is shown attacking the passenger side window where the driver's child was allegedly sitting. While the footage ends at the point of the car attack, a spokesperson from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Public Information (DCPI) of the NYPD told Christian Post that the driver had his face slashed and suffered black eyes from a beating as a result of the incident. The video has received mixed reactions from viewers -- some say the driver got what he deserved for breaking the leg of one of the bikers, while others condemn the actions of the notorious biker gang known for their daredevil tactics and rallies in New York City. As the investigation continues, police have so far arrested 15 bikers and seized 55 bikes. news, news intro, news today, breaking news, flash news, daily news, today, news channel, the latest news,in the world, live news, news 2013,this week, news 2013 today, world news, world news today, world news 2013,news bloopers, fail news, funny news,Andrew Napolitano (Author),Road Rage (Crime Type),Violence (Crime Type),Gang (Fictional Organization Type),Viral Video (Film Genre)
