Thank you for taking the time for these videos. I did the spline lube last year and will be tackling this bearings as my next DIY project. You make it so easy to see exactly how a pro does it.

Samstagsales.com has the pilot tip hex keys for the clamping bolts on the bridges

What does he say at 10:22? Cruck season them?

Hi Chris, it's me the retired A&P mechanic. One thing I like to do whenever I get a triple tree off (no matter what bike I'm working on) is to very lightly hone the stanchion holes to remove the high spots. This may not be something you want to do seeing how time is money for you but it only take about 30 seconds per hole. I also put some copper coat in the holes before refitting the stanchions.Cheers, Eric

Shouldn't be a problem. Good luck.

Hi, for tax reasons(we have rediculous taxes on bikes here), I want to put a K1100LT(1994) on to a K100(1986) frame. Can you tell me in a few words about the difficulties I am facing? I do have a lot of technical experience and I DO know how to use a wrench, and to me it seems a fairly easy job.
-
10:43 is where the good music starts :D always have it on, on my K100LT!
-
It's not too bad!
-
Pfff, this looks like a tough job. I don't even consider doing this myself ;-) Very interesting to watch though!
-
They are crap!
-
They're called "piloted" allen head bolts: They're discussed at Beemershop(dot)com.
-
Chris: The "shallow" bolt you're complaining about--you're supposed to use a special Allen head wrench with a pin on the end. That's supposed to allow you to apply extra torque without the wrench rounding out the head of the bolt. BMW uses those on their cars, too.

No contamination or electo-reaction to the copper anti-seize.
