I tested and compared the 2016 Bosch and Yamaha electric bikes (Haibike XDURO and SDURO models) and was able to take a detailed look at the motors, batteries, display units and chargers off the bikes. What I found is that the combined motor and battery weight for both systems is exactly the same at 14.1 lbs and that with the Bosch CX Gen 3 unit the torque was very similar to Yamaha but offered a wider range of supported pedal speeds (higher range of powered cadence). Each system has four levels of assist but they vary slightly.
