Brompton Folding Bike NYC - Winter Riding
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
http://www.nycewheels.com/brompton-folding-bike.html Peter rides his Brompton folding bike around New York City's snow bound streets. This little folding bike is actually great during the winter months because it gives you the flexibility to stop in where ever you go.

Hi, I read below in the comments you ride 4 miles (roughly the same commute I would potentially be taking). The Brompton is a viable choice as an alternative to the often times unreliable TTC bus service in the outskirts of Toronto.
How long is that ride for you usually? And is that abiding with road traffic? What's the fastest you've attempted (track runners have a PB, or personal best time, you look like you'd have one)? Very helpful videos - thank you for your time! -
Can you lower the seat on these ?
-
is peter still riding his Brompton?

nice vid but cows milk is gross. Go vegan. Use soy milk or almond milk or rice milk instead.

Nice and looks like fun. Couple of thoughts. Stainless steel spokes and brass nipples will last much longer than other metals when riding through snow. Hydraulic disc brakes will ensure you can stop when you need to when riding through snow, slush, and ice.
Salt water will enter the space between the valve stem and rim. That salt water will corrode and split your rim from the inside within a few months. Use a rubber O ring over the threaded valve stem to seal that space and tighten the O ring against the rim for a good seal with the valve stem nut. Your rim will last many years longer if you seal that gap well. -
Any rust issue on raw lacquer version of brompton? Im thinking of choosing that next.

You ride in winter with no gloves?

@+NYCeWheels did you change the folding bike tires to winter tires? Is it okay to use ordinary tires for winter?I have a KONTACT KENDA ordinary tires, will it not slip in the snow?
