What do you do if you get a flat tire? What if someone decided to be an ass and pop all the tires? How do they insure the safety of the bikes from person to person? I don't understand how this is even a functional thing.

all you have to do is get a new back rim with a gear that doesn't keep moving, or just check and see if your current gear on your fixie just needs to be flipped

Or get a comfortable bike

I find a fixie with narrow bars the most comfortable to use. It's the fastest it can get and I can count on it while riding
