bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
In this video I talk about the bikes that I use for riding in the winter, and what I do to maintain them. I filmed this video in February 2014, in the middle of an intense Toronto winter. I hope you enjoyed this video and found it helpful. Please leave comments and SUBSCRIBE! Thanks for watching.

regarding sticking with v-brakes, you also don't need max stopping power in the winter unless you want to crash and wipe out and slide into things. however disc brakes might have other pro/cons to be considered.

Your frame on the green machine is rusting and flaking paint off because of the salt not being cleaned off the frame

Your are a true Canadian -
Thanks very much for this!
I find this video very helpful.
Can I ask you, what is the size of the tires on your bikes?
I've read that for winter/ice (I live in Yellowknife) narrower tires have more grip, because you have more weight/pressure per square inch of rubber.
On the other hand, wider tires require lower pressure which also means more grip.
So do you have an opinion on narrow (eg 35c) vs wide (eg 2 inches as with mountain bikes) for winter and ice?
Thanks again! -
No people think they are junk bikes because they might not be the highest quality but he takes care of them as though they are. He has two in case one breaks

Could you list the tools you take with you found at 17:10?
There are three items there I'm not familiar. Is that a spoke wrench? Thanks from Texas! -
To stop flat tires you can use your old inner tubes and put them inside of the tire ontop of your good one just cut off the stems and then you have an extra layer of rubber.....haha I hate being on the road and getting a flat tire in the cold or the rain without an air pump.....but once you line the tires you can just glide over glass and piles of stuff out on the road without any worry of getting a flat I made a video a little while ago explaining how to do it if you want to feel free to check it out its on my channel

Those are some nice looking bicycles! =) The basket ideas are good! I use a bicycle rack on my bicycle. You can see in this video here >>> bicycle light set up

I just found your channel...do people think your bike is a "junk bike" because you have a milk crate on it? I'm just curious because I just attached one of those to my bike yesterday and my family laughed at me. Honestly, they don't understand bike culture, but I'm just winding what your experience has been. They want me to have a fancier basket...

So good to hear the views of a real all season rider and I still think you're a brave man to keep riding through the Canadian winter. Great video as always, thanks for sharing.
