Conclusion So Far? KTM vs Yamaha 250 Off Road bikes - Episode 124
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
We will continue to compare these bikes and eventually have a real conclusions video, but I wanted to give you a sneak peak into how I'm feeling about the two different platforms now that I've been riding them back to back. Each bike has it's own strengths and weaknesses and both bikes have more to like than they have things to complain about. Want to help support Dirt Bike Channel? I am going from a Honda CRF150RB to a KTM 250xc-f I have recently been riding more two strokes and I like 2 strokes almost better now, this video basically confirms the KTM is for me XD

It feels heavier, that's it that's all? The YZ is 25lbs heavier on paper, so yes it's going to have a heavier feel because it is heavier. What about clutch feel, gearing, terrain, suspension YZ vs XC? Which one flames out easier? (spoiler alert: KTM does), which bike allows you to ride longer periods of time before arm pump and fatigue? which one is easier to ride?
These are the conclusions us riders would like, -

Kyle, I'm so glad that you mentioned the support thing today. I'll be stopping by Rocky Mountain atv/mc today. I am just getting ready to head out to Central Utah to go riding and camping for Memorial Day weekend and I've got to pick up some parts there on the way, so I will definitely buy them through your link and give you a little bit support. Thanks for the great vids, the comparisons are going great, keep up the good work!

Awesome series. Thanks for putting together an unbiased fair review of the bikes. You did an incredible job and I wish a lot of the dirt magazine channels would take after your channel (they should hire you at this point really).
I always thought you were a little KTM biased (biased may be the wrong word or too strong a word) which isn't good if your trying to review other products fairly on a growing YouTube dirt channel. This is coming from a guy who owns a 2016 KTM 450 SXF btw.
Cheers mate! -
awesome work and keep going!!! I'll try to support

Just got done with a trail ride through the mountains of Maui. The place I went through had a 2015 KTM 200-XC for me to ride. I'm used to a 2008 YZ250F but I've been dying to ride a 2-stroke KTM. I only ride trails, no motocross at all. Long story short, the KTM 200XC was AWESOME!! Loved every minute of being on that bike. The top end did seem a little low, but that's a 200cc so I wasn't going to knock it for that. The main thing I notice when I first got on it was the wheelbase seemed so much shorter, and I liked that a LOT. The bike also seemed quite a bit lighter. With those 2 advantages, and the electric start, I fell in love with the KTM. The 200cc's did seem just a little weaker than what I would want but it did handle the trails just fine and man, that thing did not want to stall (as you've mentioned before)! Just kept lugging up the hills when I know for sure on my Yz250F it would've stalled. Now i'm left with the decision of, do I go big and go for a new 2016, possibly 17 2-stroke KTM, or just remain 'content' on my YZ250F for another year and look for a 'lightly-used' KTM. Decisions, decisions...

Good idea doing a referral link - That's a great way for those of us who enjoy your vids to kick back a bit to you. Hopefully as the channel continues to grow you will be able to get some support in industry to get on some more bikes.

Has the parts link worked for anyone else? I've tried it on 3 different browsers on two computers and it just opens a blank page.
-
Is the extra weight of the yz felt more in single track type riding, climbing, and/or everywhere?
-
Great idea for the parts link, it's now saved in my bookmarks. My next purchases will be made through that, hope it helps ya!

Keep up the good work. I will definitely use the RM link.
