Congestion in Copenhagen (YIKES: BIKES)
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Tens of thousands of people commute by bike each day via Torvegade in Copenhagen. Here's the crush of rush hour - sure beats the honking and fumes of rush hour in NYC! OK, I have to admit, I had a little help. This was the backup resulting from the raising of the Knippelsbro drawbridge. It took quite a while to clear the backup (note how orderly everyone is, for the most part staying in the bike lane) - and there isn't much of a backup of cars or trucks!

Hehe... our version of a traffic jam :D
And to those who commented that they are riding slowly, I am not sure if it is clear in the video that this is actually uphill. You can see the cyclists on the opposite side of the road zooming down the slope. -
It's on the bus lane, so I guess it's the bus. Obviously, that's the reason for so many people riding their bike ;-)
-
I love this. So many more people biking than driving. It rocks.
-
don't feed the trolls
-
so slow! I would hate those guys riding at sub 20km/h and there is only one lane!
-
yeah, everybody is moving at the speed of their desire (its uphill!) There is a full bus lane empty right next to them for people who want to go faster... just got here from a Spiegel article.... As the video describes, its a special situation which 1 bridge closed as well...

@1:39 wtf is this ^^

So few cars and still they use up more than twice the space of all those bikes
-
They sit in the cars (which still take more room than all those bikers)
-
Congestion? I didn't see any congestion. Now imagine what it would look like if all those people were driving cars ...
-
It's nothing in comparison to the usa...
-
I'm quite jealous of the nice bike lanes. They aren't very common in the USA to say the least >.<

And if I were you I wouldn't talk ignorantly about socialism because its ideas are what are helping the US survive. It was what allowed Clinton to provide any security for Americans in the 90's (remember his goal with education? kind of worked out for a bit, nevertheless, it was social thinking). Every time the US has experienced something good, socialist values, whether small or large, influenced in the system
