Crash between cyclist and pedestrian

He ran out so quickly I didn't even have time to brake. I was fine and so was the pedestrian. Someone needs a refresher on the green cross code.

When crossing a road and something is coming your way DO NOT STOP CROSSING, keep going. Hesitation will get you killed as a pedestrian.

ouch!
-
You have a huge bald head
-
He looks like a thief that has get stolen something and is running away.
-
dick head. you were too fast with your fuckin bicycle. the road isn't made for racings

Coming at this as a biker, and in those conditions, I'd have been aiming for the middle of the road as that left corner is so blind. I don't think pedestrian, I think 16 wheeler with twonk on his phone. Think big, deathly accident and you'll likely swerve shit like this.
I work around there actually, lovely area, loads of twonks running across the road though! -
Running around a blind corner isn't safe. Come on lol.

Suffice to say, the cyclist was absolutely not at fault. Makes a pleasant change from the normal whinging not-at-fault cyclists that post on here.

Traffic...ain`t nothin` but a thaing.

If that had been a car or bigger vehicle jumping the lights, this video would have been buried with the cyclist, at junctions slow down and check, green means proceed if safe to do so. That junction is blind to the left, alarm bells should have been ringing to slow down. Any junction where on the approach, both roads cannot be seen for a good distance is a potentially place for a serious accident. It don't matter whose in the right or in the wrong, understand, on a bicycle you ain't going to be alive to argue the point.

one of the very few times a cyclist is not in the wrong

people seem to think the cyclist was at fault ... what the fuck happen to STOP LOOK LISTEN THINK ! ...
or has the green cross code been fazed out because is racist against duellers of mars ... and little green man .

That dude was lucky it wasn't a car..

Why is it that so many fully grown adults in London still don't know how to cross a road safely?

This is King Street junction with Cheapside in London UK. The speed Limit is 30mph. the cyclist is wearing high viz jacket and has his front light on. The cyclist was traveling at 15.6mph(estimated to good accuracy) I have worked this out. The cycle lane white lines are 4 meters in length with a 2 meter gap between each line,(which is the same for hazard lines) the cyclist passed 4 lines and 5 gaps which is 28 meters, he did this in 4 seconds = 15.6mph. Now from the moment we first see the pedestrian to the time of the collision is 1.2 seconds. The highway code in the uk shows reaction time to be 0.67 seconds for the average person. Others say the human reaction time is 1 second. Some could argue that because there is 1.2 seconds from seeing the person attempt to cross and colliding with them, the cyclist should have been able to start breaking. However there was no chance he could stop his bike going at 15mph in the remaining 0.2 seconds. This proves the collision was inevitable! The best thing the pedestrian could have done (other than crossing in the first place) was to keep running. You can see from the video that the pedestrian tried to stop. If he kept running this may have been a near miss not a collision. It is clear that the cyclist did nothing wrong! Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot. -
travelling too fast in a built up area you wanker. I think cyclists forget their poxy bikes are equipped with brakes
