1. I feel bad, but I love to close the center lane when I see these bikes come up in my rear-view mirror... Not sure why. Maybe I want to help them live.

   Don't bother to look around 360 degrees.
   Don't bother to see who is driving through the red light. ! ! !
   Then cry when they run into you.
   This is a typical YouTube motorcycle video.
   It nearly always begins with a motorcycle rider who thinks that someone in a car or truck has done some kind of injustice to them. They persist instead of backing off. They yell about how everything is being video recorded. >Which always records the stupid move(s) the motorcycle rider made.< They take on a vehicle that is 10 times heavier than the motorcycle in a big display of bravado and massive egotism.
   Do they start by asking themselves what they did, what could they have done differently and smarter, was I speeding, was I in the correct lane position, was I visible, was I following too close? Was I fully 360 degrees aware?
   The fact that someone video records their ride may indicate that they are out to prove something. They have a crappy attitude when they ride and a lousy mindset along with poor safety riding skills. They pretend to be a traffic cop and try to lecture car drivers about all the things they have done wrong to the motorcycle rider. And the video recording will somehow negate their responsibility as to what happened in the video. >> Oh look at poor me see what that car driver did to me! I recorded everything which makes me clear of all responsibility and blame. <<
   
   Not avoiding a crash that is preventable while riding a motorcycle is your fault.
   If you jump off the curb in front of a bus and get smashed do you blame the bus driver?
   If you stand in the middle of railway tracks and get creamed by the train do you blame the train engineer? They are preventable by your actions [ or lack of ] and nobody else.
   
   A green light means you have the right of way sure.. You can be dead right.
   
   Oh officer....the light was green --- I expected the drunk beer drinking redneck in the pickup truck to be fully lucid and come to a full stop at his red light --- hardy har har ---- you are squished like a bug while screaming RIGHT OF WAY --- RIGHT OF WAY !!
   
   There are a lot of things you should not have to do on a motorcycle --- but unfortunately cars weigh 10 times as much as a motorcycle.
   And kinetic energy is mass times velocity squared. So calculate yours compared to a car. Motorcycle = 500 times 60 squared vs Car = 5000 times 60 squared.
   Doubling your speed injects four times more kinetic energy into any riding situation. So that quick twist of the throttle means it will now take way longer to turn, brake or avoid trouble.
   You lose big time.
   
   So jump up and down about the laws and lawyers and rights and court cases and law suites and property damage claims from your hospital room or from the morgue.
   You get creamed by a red light runner?
   YOUR fault.
   You run into the side of a car turning left in front of you.
   YOUR fault.
   You run into the side of a car that pulls out of a side road.
   YOUR fault.
   You lane split or filter and something dumb happens or anything happens. Lane splitting is a privilege not a right. And there are numerous guidelines to follow – you can’t just race between lanes and expect everything will be OK.
   YOUR fault.
   Someone runs into the back of your motorcycle and there are numerous ways to get out of it.
   YOUR fault.
   Someone moves into your lane way ahead of you. So what? You have options.
   Expect those things to happen every time and live longer.

   I am imagining their likely life expectancy. Short and shorter. Then they can wait forever at their leisure.
   Just one car has to not see them and pull out and they both get their Darwin Awards and be Organ Donors.
10. oK Lads. so u have a bike, nice ,but u are risking getting hurt asp at these stupid speeds. But i worry MORE about the car owners who don,t really have the time to see u at these speeds -give it up ! and save a lot of heart brake.!!!!
11. in my country that kind of ride is normal, no biggie. try at jakarta and prepare yourself with traffic madness (sorry for bad english, not my primary language)

16. Is that PCH near near Laguna? Best part about lane splitting is when cars start moving only to turn into the divider, roll down the window and tell you how you're doing something wrong. this is where a roll of pennies comes in handy.
