Crazy Japanese Foldable Bicycle!
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
Cool bikes that you see all over Japan. They fold up for easy travel and for storing in small apartments. Purchased it at Costco here in Japan and it has proven to be a great bike! I have now owned it for ever a year and i haven't had a single problem. Be sure to check out costco.com or go in to find a sweet bike of your own! Video taken on iPad.

Nice bike but too girly looking IMO. I prefer my Dahon Mu P8 over that.

I've seen cooler looking folding bikes though.

If you walked into our bicycle shop in the New Orleans French Quarter, the variety of folding bikes we have would blow your mind. They start at $165 and go into the $1000's...

For a different style of folding bike which was invented in Japan, look at the Smartcog Mint: Smartcog MINT and http://www.smartcog.co.jp/Products/mint.htm . It has 14" wheels and a unique folding design which makes the bike so compact that it can be stored in a luggage locker, as shown in the video. Unfortunately, they're not sold in the US, but Dahon, the huge maker of folding bikes, apparently licensed the design and makes a similar bike with 16" wheels, called the Dahon Jifo: 2013 DAHON JIFO 16 . The Jifo is sold in the US. Unfortunately, the Jifo doesn't come in a multi-gear model, just the single-speed. The Brompton bike (made in England) folds even smaller, but it's much more costly in the US than the Jifo. However, Bromptons have up to 6 gears and nice accessories.

We do have folding bikes in the US, of course. In fact, some very nice ones are even made right here, such as at Bike Friday in Eugene, Oregon. http://www.bikefriday.com/
