I have seen a lot of invention that are amazing like computers and Airplane, but the simplicity and the effectiveness of a bike makes it the best invention at least for me. It is so simple and so effective not to mention inexpensive. I love Bicycle.

When I was five years old, I received the most spectacular red, white, and blue bicycle. As you may have guessed, I am from the states. I didn't know how to ride it yet, so I just took it with me everywhere to show it off. One day my aunt, a rather large woman, decided to teach me. She ran like the Dickens behind me as I peddled like a mad man. All of a sudden, I could no longer hear her panting and looking back, I quickly realized I was on my own. I ran into some really nice parked cars that day. But they were fortunately "parked." I hope I will never forget that magical day. That was 42 years ago and I still cycle every day I possibly can. And I don't hit nearly as many cars today, lol.

I hadn't ridden a bike until I was 12, but when I first got on, it was quite simple and I don't remember having any trouble with it.

I learned to cycle at around the age of 6, I am now cycling off road and thoroughly enjoying the experience.
May be you can help me. I am no longer living in the UK and I am trying to find information about the North Staffordshire Cycling Club. I have a gold medal which my father won in 1937. His name was Norman Cotton
He won the 50 TT race in a time of 2hrs 20 min.8 secs.
I am hoping to find records of this race and hopefully a photo of him being presented with the medal.
Thank you for a very interesting and entertaining video. -

Thanks for the History lesson! Bicycles are "True" freedom. for many reasons. Those who pioneered the "Greenest", most independent form of ground transportation the world has ever known... Deserve our recognition!

There is an interesting piece of film at 0:50. It shows a high wheeler with toe straps to pull up on the pedals and a hub lamp in the big wheel. Also there is an interesting loop on the handlebars. I would like to know about this piece of film.
