We were testing throughout the day at 6,000-10,000W (mostly 6,000-8,000W for the footage above) to get a feel for what kind of power is necessary to actually conquer dunes. We were all caught off guard a bit to say the least. Since sand robs so much power, none of us thought it had a chance of conquering any of the larger dunes. We were all taken aback when the HPC BIGFOOT shot up the first dune. People everywhere were awestruck as this was probably the first time they have seen ANY bicycle successfully navigate sand dunes. We had so much fun shooting this that we are now diving full steam into a fat bikes and are getting a custom 120mm travel fat bike fork made to fit these giant 4.8" tires that is also strong enough to handle a monster motor as well. The motors we have here are actually the high speed version of the Revolution 100V motors. Just wait till we give it a true high torque winding... It should handle the dunes even better! so if 10,000watts divided by 750 gets you a rough horsepower of 13 (peak, as in a few seconds before the motors heat up and the esc heats up and the batteries and the wires heat up and lose power vs a gas motor which gains power when heated up). This is the power equivalent of a 4 stroke 125 or roughly an 80cc higher end 2 stroke. Probably 10% lighter than the 2 stroke and 30% lighter than the 4 stroke. Is it legally a motorcycle? In California it sure is. It's illegally a motorcycle.. No vin, on street, registered vehicles only on off road parks like (kof) the dunes.. Technically (above 2.5 hp no longer in assisted bicycle class.. past power output of a 50cc = past moped class.. you are a Vespa. aka a scooter. aka.. yes. a Motorcycle. An M2 would not cut it you would need an M1 aka a motorcycle license. I have no idea what you would need to do maybe take it to California BAR/ ask for a vin # under a special project and get CHP to pass it. Turn signals.. Brake lights.. Horn.. Though obviously enforcement will be less than a gas engine this is by letter of law on the street and all places that require vehicles that are legal on the street or legally within the system.. hella illegal. (AKA Private Property Only) The real question. Is it cooler than riding the dunes on an 80cc 2 stroke for an adult? I'm saying neither has enough power for stupid stuff. I see no roosters or wheelies or steep dune climbs here. Cool and fun. yes. Badass level speed? no. Is it cooler than an 80cc.. sure. yes. It's weird and kinda styley. Frankly I'd like to see a video of this with an 80lb or 100lb kid on it. I bet it sails then. Like an 80' For 6 minutes. lol tops. Then a few hours of charging time unless that's a 5 thousand dollar battery pack. N' yea No suspension on high speed off road.. Ditch those motors and slap on an ETEK.

from where I can get a two wheel electric derive for a 26 x4 inches? does it come with one controller and one display?

I think you are pushing the point of diminishing returns when it comes to weight v power v range. At this point just get a dirtbike.

That's the kind of bike I want. I'm 200 lbs and want to go fishing on remote beaches maybe 5 miles one way. I also need ability to carry fishing rods, buckets and tackle. Corrosion resistant components and sand resistant design. Any suggestions?

Very cool! I wish more of the footage didn't have two stroke engine noise from the other vehicles. It kind of spoiled the effect. :-)

I'm now actively planning a low cost 2WD solar powered electric bike conversion of my old Trek mountain bike. It's not fat capable, but I'm putting the widest tires on it that I can get. It'll mostly be an urban assault vehicle. I'll use a high current commercial motor controller if I can (probably) but I may build my own three phase motor controller if I decide that I'd rather have regenerative braking with direct drive hub motors for all of the in town use rather than the added no cogging efficiency of a free wheeling geared hub and no regenerative braking.
