bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
https://electricbikereview.com/e-glide/ss/ The E-Glide SS is an affordable, light weight, single speed city electric bike that comes in two styles (high-step and mid-step), generous one year warranty and 30 day money back guarantee. Clean aesthetic with matching black components and internally routed cabling, the front brake is upgraded from linear pull to disc for improved stopping power and smoothness. Basic LED ebike console with limited battery capacity readouts but you get a separate wireless cycle computer for additional feedback around speed, trip time and trip distance. Controller is mounted separate from the battery pack vs. being integrated, battery must be powered on before display can be activated and removing the pack requires unscrewing a cable vs. other click-in systems that are faster and easier.

For some reason the e-glide website says this bike uses a direct drive motor, but it looks like a geared motor to me. Here's a quote from their site: “A combination of ultra light weight, direct drive brushless free spinning hub motor, and 700 series tires makes for a very efficient ebike with long, long range.”

ya can get hub kit $140, craigslist bike, new lithium battery and be less than half that $999. for over $500 savings, 2hours work, I'll diy

i want one of those but can't decide which one
what u think will be the best bike under $1200 -
Great review.K.I.S.S.
KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. -
This seems like a great deal for someone who rides on good roads that are fairly flat. Plus the warranty is great for the price range. Another great review, thanks.

would be nicer with mag wheels to go along with the whole maintenance-free bullet-proof vibe
-
what is the weight of this test bike, thks
-
great option at a good price. I think it is 1/3 the price of the big bells and whistles bikes.. bit it looks like more than 1/3 value

Finally a good Ebike with acceptable price, i will keep eye on it

First, many reasons to buy this bike besides price and one is weight as Cort mentions.
Bike is super light in e-bike terms roughly 41 lbs. (you order the Schwalbe’s) etc. with battery and 35 lbs. without. I find this a godsend because occasionally I take my bike on the bus and it makes putting on the bus much easier especially if I remove the battery.
Secondly, I have owned the bike now for 3+ months traveling over 350 miles and done nothing in regards to repairs. I have added a larger sprocket and replaced brake pads. If I did have problems, like Cort says, I have the assurance the folks at E-Glide being there for me.
Finally, bike is simple no derailleurs etc. I just use the throttle to get up to a decent cadence. And for me that is less things to worry about breaking or adjusting.
Will close with this: I know some will say bike needs this and that, but for me the price, weight and durability closed the deal. I made the right choice the first time. There were a lot of e-bikes to choose from, but eventually you reach a level you might as well by a scooter or moped.
Any questions and if power happens to be one of them, I live in the NW and do ride moderate hills. I haven't had any issues. Of course you have to peddle. It is a bicycle. -
where i can buy that e-bike in Mexico?
-
Is the e-bike price in the US that high? according to thier website this is 1000 dollar and this is affordable.
-
I cant wait for drop bar race reviews coming soon.

simplicity is what counts and will make the future more realistic.

I bought the green one and it looks great. I average 80-100 m per week. I am nearing 2,000 m. No problems. No issues. Good comfort and good geometry with a reticulated handlebar stem. It is very quick with a full battery. I weigh 225# and it has a 32 m range with me pedaling. Great service with the company!!!!!! Riding on the paved walking trails, I limit my speed to 20 mph. 22 -32 m range going full speed with using the throttle also.
This is a simple, but high quality bike. I expect to use it for many years.
If the price didn't increase too much, I would like a 500 size motor and a longer lasting battery. That's the only thing I would change. Thanks. -
