eBike Primer: Different Electric Bike Battery Types & How to Care for Batteries
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
http://electricbikereview.com/ What are the different types of electric Bike Batteries? There are sealed lead acid SLA, Lithium-ion, Lithium Iron Phosphate and a few others but the most dominant are Lithium Manganese Cobalt which come in 18650 cylinders (similar to AA sized) that are also used in electric cars. This same type of chemistry is often used for mobile devices (like cell phones) and is therefore widespread and more affordable. It is energy dense and can last for 1,000+ charge cycles if cared for properly.

I just made my ebike using a kit I bought online for 170dollars and it was 48 volt 1000 Watt then got batteries which are 12 volt 20ah together make a 48 volt 20 ah pack and to me I don't really notice the weight this bike cruises at 25 and tips out at 30 and can last for over 30 miles to me spending 300 dollars on this kit with batteries is way better then spending over 3000 to get the same performance and range. the only thing is every 2 years or so I need to replace the batteries which is still only 130ish instead of around 1000 dollars for a equal lithium battery pack.
