Electra Cruiser - Comfort Machine Packs A Wallop - BikemanforU Bike Check
bicycles reviews | bicycles videos | bicycles online
BikemanforU gets cozy with Electra's Gigi three-speed cruser in this bike check. http://www.bikemanforu.com on bike parts, tires, tools, and cycle accessories. Thumbs up go to the gear carrying capabilities, with sturdy basket in front and rear rack. Despite the name, this bike is purely human-powered. BMFU deems it a comfortable, uprght recreational bike, with Shimano Nexus hub and shifters and coaster brake. The bike delivers comfort over speed. The rims are painted, with Electra Runner 8-ball tires. He doesn't care for the chrome-plated aluminum tubing on the rack, which make it vulnerable to flaking. If you're looking for a well-built bike for reliable rides around town, check out Electra. Nice video. Great personality. I recently bought a 3G ladies newport. What do you think of 3g bikes. Have you seen the Electra lux 7d fat tire bike? Thinking of exchanging the 3G for a Lux 7d. Are electra's generally better than 3G bikes?

Lost me at "buy lots of bottled water". Sorry......

Sounds like Mr.Bean talking as you say Electra Cruiser:)

Bought my wife the Ladies Coaster 1, and for myself the Cruiser 1 "Tall" version in Matte Black... Trek purchased Electra because Electra had a few Patents that Trek saw usage for... Trek then did away with their own Cruisers and have done a nice job keeping true to where Electra came from and had been going.

My wife has this same Gigi cruiser. Her basket rails are painted blue like the rest, not chrome. Nice ride, no problems - a great "grocery getter".
I don't think Electra makes this particular model/paint job any longer but it's pretty clean and cute! -
Best for tooling around large convention halls with concrete floors. For a bike in that good a shape to have peeling chrome means they're sourcing junk from china in some hellish factory of cut-rate crap, where they say, Americans will buy anything shiny. Otherwise, I'd ride it to a Pee Wee Herman show. As for the slow-cycling comments, you can bike slow on anything - the handlebar angle is your friend

What a piece of junk.

"Weight reduction program"...Bike man I thought you had been looking more Svelte these days - good for you.

ASK The People in Main about Poland Spring and Nestle' !!!!

It's interesting when Americans complain about the gas prices. In Europe it costs about twice as much and the salaries aren't twice as big.

Morning Bikeman....New to your channel. Nice bike ...What's old is new again. 50's style with modern drive train...The tires you sent me for my 1980's Schwinn road bike worked prefect...back on the road again. Would like to see vintage stuff...60's middle weights and what not..Keep those videos coming.

Utilitarian bikes, I like this general idea.

Beautiful bike. I'd love to own one of these or a Dutch city bicycle. Practical bikes like these are very comfortable and not that bad for longer rides. I took a few of my riding buddies and we all rented Electra three-speed cruisers for a day, and we did about 60 miles. I love how the bike forces you to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Always a Good Time and Informational watching a BIKEMANFORU video. Thanks, Bikeman.

Once in a while, its nice to see a bicycle thats not influenced by the "boy racer" trend so popular these days. A big, comfortable seat, fat tires and nary a piece of carbon fiber anywhere. Take that weight weenies!!!

Do you work with electric bikes?
